Butler Scouting Report

We need to bring back the Kemba and Bazz signature move of throwing their head back and accentuating the contact. Force the refs to call it early and often
I would bring back Bazz to teach that move.

FWIW, tf the PeoplesBank Arena were regarded as a neutral site, Butler would be a Quad1 opponent, currently ranked in the top 50 NET. A home game Quad1 requires a Top 30, ranking. It does appear that the return matchup at Butler will be Quad1, since only a Top 75 ranked opponent is required. in a true road game.

From looking at the scouting report and what they've achieved thus far, Butler has the potential to be a dangerous team and should not be taken lightly. (Of course, no team should be taken lightly.) Thad Matta is a good coach with lots of experience, a retooled roster, and he has this team playing with energy, effort, and confidence.

I believe we win, but I think +14.5 is too much of a spread. We really haven't overwhelmed anyone this year, except maybe for the teams we were expected to beat. Maybe that changes tonight? Both our rebounding and defense need to be sharp tonight. I think we win 77-69.

While I think they will foul Reed and open him up for a good game we need Ball and Mullins to hit from outside to stretch them and have Demary drive and AK to play out for 3s and in for rebounds.

If we stop fouling while we set screens that saves 2-3 each game. Gotta not move or hip check. And we do need to be more demonstrative on a hold/grab as other team players act like they got stabbed.

They also don’t play much D and can turnover the ball so for those reasons as long as fouls are moderately close (eg 35 shots to them, 26 for us) we will win on the boards, steals, turnovers and shooting pct
