Butler Post Game Thread

Maybe, but 4 of those shots were just contested ones he threw up in garbage time. He had a very good game even if it wasn't a complete game
Some people don't want to be happy. There are 9 players that play. Not everything is going to be right with all of them in the first Big East game of the season. At least they aren't 0-1 after losing to Seton Hall (there is no recovery from that).

You can tell Silas isn't sure when to attack or not, but he played great defense and had double digit assists. Until he finds his complete game, we will take it.
Yeah he looks very confused in the offense. I was surprised when I looked at the boxscore early in the 2nd half and he had 7 assists. 11 assists is really good but I know he has way more in the tank and hope it comes soon. Smith was pretty bad tonight. The 3 missed free throws seemed to rattle him because he didn't do much after that and Hurley didn't play him much. I think there was one point where neither Smith nor Demary were on the floor and Mullins seemed to be running point.

Thought he did a much nicer job of probing today than he has. It opened up a lot of the passing lanes that led to his assists. The scoring we know he has in his bag, but running the offense was great to see today. He was also getting slapped and pushed constantly and was able to play through it. Butler was VERY handsy, especially in the second half.
I love how Demary slaps his defender's hand away when he's being guarded with hands on him. I've noticed this before. It looks like he's swatting away flies. Do refs ever call that a foul or is that allowed?

I know it's a contrdiction in terms, but he is the most controlled spaz I've ever seen. Anybody else you would think is out of control, but the game just seems to move faster for him than anyone else.
His processing is instantaneous. He tried to go behind the back tonight before the ball actually arrived to him.

Smith was the only player that was net negative (-5). He has this knack for getting messy.

Concern with Silas is that he has absolutely no touch shooting anymore, mid range, deeper, floaters. How many points has he averaged the last few games against good teams? 2, 2, 6, 2 against Butler, Florida, Texas and Kansas.

Every game it seems like a different panel of players for the post-game. I dont ever remember it being this spread out. Deeeep

I also don't think I've seen a freshman progress as quickly as Reibe. He only had 6 points, but had 7 rebounds and 4 blocks (I counted 5) in just 18 minutes. He's developing a real presence out there and does not look like an unsure or hesitant freshman anymore. He's going to be special next year, and if he stays for his junior year, watch out.

A good W to chalk up but hardly a stellar performance. Ross was playing at another level and perhaps is coming into his own. He’s using his athleticism snd speed with intention. Reed started off ok but the O really bogs down with him. Puts the ball on the floor too much. AK apparently ran out of ammo and went silent. The guards are suspect on D and O. Overall, I don’t think these guys have quite put the puzzle pieces together just right yet. Too many dead scoring stretches but then they seem to get into another gear when they start getting pushed by the opponent. Just a lot of talent still needing to gel and find consistency.
