Yeah, it was a solid gutsy win, again….but call me greedy because I wanna see some blowouts now. It’s time to humiliate some other teams. I want a laugher where I can pour a bourbon in the second half and sort of half pay attention to what’s happening on the screen in the background.

We flirted with that in the first five minutes, but then turned it into another “gutsy, it’s the big east …win.”

I kind of expect close games this year from a lot of the Big East. Even without great talent guys like Thad Motta, Greg McDermott, Sean Miller, Shaka and Pitino are all very good coaches and demand a lot from their players so I don't expect many blowouts this year.

We're going to need everybody. Liam wasn't so hot the other day, a bunch of guys were sub-optimal today. But we have so many good players we can get the ones playing well in there.

See the guy hidden by feathers in back of the bird on the right. That's me watching Peacock.

This wasn’t a good game for Nowell at all. All of Butler’s main guards have at least 5-7” height on him and he’s game-rusty. There’s a reason why Ross got a decent amount of minutes guarding their big perimeter guys.

I bet he gets minutes in the DePaul game.

The good trade off is Mahaney got 10 productive minutes and looked about as good as he’s been all year. Including the Baylor game.
Good points. Plus the last 2 games have been very tight. I’m guessing if we get up 15 we start seeing Nowell

So we’re going to just ride with Diarra as our only PG? The hope was Nowell would eventually become backup PG/9th man. I guess we’re still hoping Mahaney figures it out ?
I have a very hard time seeing a 10 man rotation in conference play, so unless Ross or Mahaney are being completely benched I think so. Not saying it's what I'd do, I'd like to see him getting 10-15 minute and less for Ross, just doesn't seem like Hurley trusts him enough for that right now

Hurley said Nowell needs to play more, I think he'll be a part of the rotation.

Several people around here have made the point that his highest and best present usage is as a 'microwave' scorer. Until he gets a grip on the physicality of the Big East that's probably a good role for him. He can learn what he has to learn while still feeling like he's contributing and it gives Hurley another weapon instead of a roster void.

Also, is there a better name for a basketball player than Andre Screen?

Looks like our KP went down after this one, 15 now. Hanging on by a thread to stay in the defensive top 100 sitting at 99.

Marginally, we dropped from 22.57 to 22.55, it's mostly just that other teams moved up. We were basically right on the expectations, predicted 77-73 and we won 78-74

And I trust Hurley to know what he's ready for at any given time. He always has a plan. He's not a throw em' to the wolves, sink or swim guy. Maybe that's why he wins so much.

I see a lot of talk about getting the rotation down to 8 or 9 guys at most but I kind of think this year is the opposite. We have so many talented but incomplete players. Thankfully they have a wide variety of skill sets. The Huskies may only play 9 on a given night but I think Hurley's going to need various contributions from 11 guys that differ game to game based on opponent and situation.
