It was obvious he was gone for sometime. The Press had him on the trade list after Week 2.

QBs would run plays against him all day long when he checked in. It wasn't a good situation in the read and react 3-4 offense. I think there was hope the 4-3 would leave Darius less naked and force outlet passes early but it didn't seem to work as well as intended.

the kid was not good with his time on the Patriots...being a Pats fan I can hardly blame them for letting him go. He will get another chance b/c of his athletism but if he does not improve the kid is gonna have a very short NFL career.

McClain was cut in the final cuts for the Panthers. It's about half way down in this article from The Charlotte Observer.
