  1. This turned out to be way too tough a game against an inferior opponent.
  2. We missed more layups in the first 10 minutes than we should ever miss for a whole game.
  3. Fortunately, Bryant was being called for fouls at an alarming clip in the first half, which resulted in them getting frustrated and playing even more poorly.
  4. As poorly as we were playing, we got even sloppier for the last 3 minutes of the half.
  5. Then we started the 2nd half playing as lousy as we did the last 3 minutes of the 1st half.
  6. Reibe was called for a foul at about 7:50. To my eyes, it was clearly a foul by Harvey, who ended up shooting and making a pair of FTs.
  7. The next couple minutes was an embarrassing mess. We had 59 points when this sequence started, and had been stuck at 59 since Reibe's jumper at 8:06. More than 2 game minutes plus a couple TV timeouts later, Demary stole the ball, got fouled & made 1 of 2 FTs. FINALLY, we reached 60 points! In the interim, Solo had missed a layup and a 3, Silas missed a 3 and a short jumper and Alex missed a pair of threes, while Bryant made 4 FTs.
  8. In the end, we won the dang game, and at season's end it will be remembered as nothing more than an early season, 23 point win. But in real time, it was a mess that really brought our weaknesses into focus, and illustrated just how badly we can play.
  9. We attempted 25 threes. Made FIVE of them. Other than Stewart's 2 out of 3, no other Husky made more than 1. Take away Stewart's 2 for 3, and the rest of the team went 3 for 22 from 3. Our three point aces (Solo and Alex) went 2 for 13 from 3.
  10. We had 18 0ffensive boards for the game. But I guess that's as much a product of lot of opportunities as we missed 39 of our 64 shot attempt, as it being proof of our offensive rebounding prowess.
  11. I had to find SOMETHING in the stats to cheer me up... We had 17 dimes on 25 makes, 8 TOs & 12 steals, compared to Bryant's 6 dimes on 11 makes, 21 TOs and 5 steals.
  12. Reibe's improvement so far has been encouraging.
  13. The announcers drove me nuts when Silas completed the triple double They said numerous times, that it was the 2nd triple double of Hurley's time at UConn, and repeatedly said that Tristen had ONE. How ill informed were this guys? Wasn't there someone on their team double checking things. Maybe I was just in a bad mood by then, that it bothered me more than it should have.
