biggest game today is Creighton v Illinois State. (need Creighton to win).

What about the CAA tournament semis:
Drexel v Old Dominion
VCU v George Mason

Both Drexel and VCU are bubble teams, so maybe it's best if they win? Not sure.

MAAC semis:
Iona v Fairfield
Iona also on the bubble, so maybe it's best if they win.

ASU v Arizona (ASU win wouldn't hurt).

Va tech over nc state (why not).

As far as the CAA: VCU is Lunardi's 2nd team out; he has Drexel with the auto-bid, but behind other auto-bid teams like Oral Roberts (meaning Drexel probably wouldn't make it as an at-large). We want either 1) VCU to win the CAA and take the auto-bid or 2) VCU to lose as soon as possible to knock them off the bubble.

Iona is similar to Drexel. They are the highest auto-bid among the 13 seeds. It seems plausible, but unlikely they would be an at-large. I guess to be safe we should root for Iona. If not, a Fairfield win is a nice consolation prize for our RPI.

Drexel has no shot at an at-large, no quality wins and the RPI is not very good. A lot would have to go right for Iona to get an at-large. Creighton is a lock for a bid, so it is in the bubble's interest for Creighton to win. VCU is definitely an at-large candidate though. I think they pass the eyeball test, certainly better than Miami, Northwestern or Seton Hall.

Down goes Iona, Fairfield beats them.

Creighton's got this wrapped up.
Iona went down to Fairfield--they're likely eliminated (1-1 v. RPI Top 50).
Drexel won.

Iona had an RPI of 38 going into the game, but I wonder if the loss to Fairfield knocks them out.

True. But they were 12-2 against teams with RPI 200+.

And 13-5 now against teams under 200.

That's not that impressive.

Is the VCU game seriously 32-4? That's not a typo?

I just took a look at Drexel and VCU's profiles. I guess VCU is closer, but neither have an impressive tournament resume (looking at last year's schedule, though without RPI), they looked just as weak, if not moreso. Now some of those games might have been better than I remember in terms of RPI, but damn.

That said, if UConn makes the NCAAs as a 7-11 seed, I'd really like to run into a mediocre major team than an exceptional mid-major.

After watching the first 10 minutes of the VCU game today I want no part of them
