BTW: A LadyVol scouting opportunity tonight

This is one of those game films that you don't show your team. It will do more harm than good.

Well they need to show the ugly truth because there are still some teams on that schedule that like to press you up and down the court. Anyone remember the Florida and Auburn games last year? Non stop in your face all 60 minutes.

Teams will obviously look to use this more against them now (maybe not as extensively as Ohio State but it will be used).

Maybe the Tennessee fans should spend less energy trolling Kim Mulkey on social media and more of it worrying about turnovers

Crazy thing was there was one point where they had 3 guards on the floor and were still coughing it up. I would say 4, but Darby doesn't really handle the ball.

Go over the press for sure but show another game. OR...just show the first half. lol There was so much that was wrong in this game it might overwhelm the players. It's like a nightmare you want to forget.

I thought she was underrated last year. Lacked experience but was a very steadying presence in the interior (where OSU was and is overall weakest).
One of your more questionable takes.

Wow. The way Tennessee lost that game was a total embarrassment. There were some pretty questionable coaching decisions in the 3rd by Coach Harper. She could have called a timeout to stop the bleeding but chose not to and some of those lineups were completely awful against the press.

As much as I want to dunk on the Vols, I do give credit to Kellie Harper for scheduling a meaningful and challenging road game for the season opener. Yesterday my eyes glazed over seeing so many dull mismatches and blowouts.

Okay, back to dunking now ...

This meme was of course inspired by a recent football game, but it's such a classic that it merits dissemination here — just imagine an "O" in lieu of the "G":D

Ahhh yes, another SEC team getting embarrassed by Ohio State. Can’t say I’m surprised. Sheldon was just dominant defensively and Mikesell really turned it on. Overall, really fun showing from OSU.

OSU point guard Green was impressive. Steady. Very solid handles in traffic.
Madison Greene helps that team immensely with her defensive intensity and ability to handle pressure when bringing the ball up. That, in turn, frees up Sheldon and Mikesell.

Ohio State has also added two first-time players -- Cotie McMahon and Emma Shumate -- who look like they'll get better throughout the season. Shumate didn't play last year after transferring from West Virginia (never played there) and I was interested in seeing what she'd bring to that team. Like the announcers, I was expecting shooting. Instead, some grit and an ability to block shots. McMahon is quite athletic and plays bigger than her 6'0".

Ohio State was just too much for Tennessee in the end. I was hoping that Eboni Walker would have had a pretty solid game. Shumate is going to be nice for Ohio State. But loved watching that game. Ohio State would not fold and in that 3rd quarter, they just went off.

I did not agree with those ESPN talking heads proclaiming the Vols being a final four team this year. It’s early of course, but they look like the same ol Tenn of the latter years. Talented, tall, athletic, but no semblance of a cohesive offense.

Jacy Sheldon / Taylor Miksell vs Jordan Horston/Rickea Jackson.....Lol no competition . Not to mention Key & Suarez
Key and Suarez weren't even a factor in this game. Key's issues with fouls cropped up again. Saurez had 7 minutes off the bench and was ineffective.

Based on what Harper said recently it sounds like Pissot is at the end of a very long bench. More experienced players ahead of her.
This is my fear. She's so talented, but I think that she'll be stuck on the bench all season.

I wonder how different the game would've been if Jackson and Key stayed out of foul trouble. It's a really good wakeup call for them two and how important they are to the team.

I also was surprised Suarez only played 7 minutes although even in their preseason game she didn't play a lot with first unit players and came in late. I'm surprised she couldn't serve as another playmaker to offset the pressure Ohio State threw at them.

At the end of the day though, this probably is a good thing call for Tennessee.

I also think Ohio State didn't really play that well but they did play incredibly hard. I still kinda think Iowa is better.

I will give the Vols credit for scheduling the game unlike the litany of cupcakes LSU will face

Now you’ve made me say something nice about Tenn

Rutgers will stress me out enough this year. At least for the non-conference with LSU, I can lean back and

some cupcakes.

I was shocked with the turnovers. OSU applied defensive pressure but not intense pressure. Imagine how Tennessee will react against Vic ball, Texas would make Tennessee look worse than they did last night and they were pathetic. IMO, Jordan Horston is real glue to that team but she is not the PG. Tennessee must get better PG play to have any chance to beat a top level team.

Me too. Tennessee may very well win but it may come down to the wire! People forget that Ohio St beat LSU and took Texas to the wire last year to end the season so they’re very familiar with teams that play an athletic and uptempo style of play. I think I’ll go with the upset. Sheldon moving back to the 2 this year will be huge for them and having Athletic players like Cotie McMahon, Eboni Walker, and Rikki Harris will be great for guarding Horston and Jackson.

Can someone hire me to be a coach? Lol I was Spot on!
