BSU fan here. Some of our fans will be at the game this saturday, myself not included. (Can't make them all). Since this visit is short-termed, what are some highlights in your area that can be visited in a few days stay?

We have a common factor in that both stadiums are built on old airports or landing fields. Ours was the towns airport until in the forties when it moved to the south of town. I'm sure many of you haven't been to our fair city so I found this video to give you a idea of what Boise is like. as far as population Boise is around 250K. When you add in Meridian, Nampa and Caldwell, which are all in the Treasue Valley we are close to 600K total. Boise is a melting pot of people, many from California, The Midwest and every other place. Winters are mild, snow doesn't stay in town long usually, but 16 miles up the mountain there will be 5-6 feet at Bogus Basin Ski Area. /www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRhGeau8RlE

Lots of things to do, depends on what your interests are, and how long people are staying.

CT Science Center, Mystic Aquarium/Seaport, Norwalk Aquarium, Beardsley Zoo, Basketball Hall of Fame. Day/overnight trips to Boston (car)/NYC (car/train). Casinos by the shore offer gambling, shopping, nightlife.

If you're into fairs, it's fall fair season. Apple picking, hayrides, pumpkin picking, lots of food, etc. The Big E opens Friday, and this site has other fairs...

All depends what their interests are and where they would be staying - although you can get anywhere in CT in about an hour.

We have 2 Casinos -
Beautiful Long Island Sound beaches and seafood restaurants along the shoreline
Here is a site for events: http://www.ctnow.com/entertainment/events/
The BIG E is this week - www.thebige.com
And if in East Hartford - www.kahoots.com (Adult)

I was in Boise a few years ago for work and was surprised by how much I loved it there. It really is a beautiful city with lots to do. Looking forward to the trip out there. Gonna try to make that one.

I'd recommend a trip down to New Haven to see the stuff down there. Yale has a beautiful campus and an absolutely terrific art gallery. Pepe's is a world famous pizza place, though I actually love Bar's mashed potato and bacon pizza a little more.

If you want to stay in central CT, I think you can get a tour of ESPN or check out Lake Compounce in Bristol, CT. It's not the best amusement park but it's not bad. There's tubing on the Farmington River (at Satan's Kingdom, hahaha), but it's a bit of a drive. West Hartford Center/Blue Back Square has some nightlife that's worth checking out (though inferior to New Haven, imo).

If you're going to do the amusement park thing, might as well do it right and go to Six Flags in Agawam, MA. 25 minute drive from Hartford.

New England Air museum is near the airport too. I would suggest that one over the East Windsor trolley museum. The air museum has much more to do and see, but the trolley museum does include a 20 minute ride on one.
