Pfffft. This is the Boneyard.Agree - fair to be critical but it needs to be grounded in reality.

Great kid bright future, high hopes NOW GET HIM A LINE PLEASE!!!!!!!!Is still raw, yet a bad and we're lucky to have him.
I love that kid and trust him running the show.
Jimmy Serrano said:Yeah, he threw some bad balls yesterday that should've been picked. Sure, he missed some open receivers and made some poor decisions.
The kid was very good yesterday. Without him that game is a blowout. Pal getting on his 2 favorite targets, the starting QB and the coaches. Like clockwork. Shireffs, Newsome, and Thomas were had good days. I'd say Newsome and Thomas were great.
Note to all fans -- college QBs aren't supposed to make 60 staight good throws or 60 straight good decisions. This is not the NFL, and Orlovsky wouldn't meet those standards.
So far I think bs has been far better than expectations. And he has been able to throw on the run. Just want him to use the talent around him so he doesn't keep taking hits. On a couple of his runs, Johnson was wide open for an easy 15 yards.I don't know Marty. He was doing that earlier and I worried that he was getting happy feet because of our, to be charitable, porous line but he threw a couple on the run yesterday including the long play to Bloom. I still think he runs a little to much but I also saw him make a couple of really good decisions where usf delinemen dropped in coverage leaving huge holes. He took off and made very nice gains. He is a gamer. He's not Orlovsky but he's no Johnny Mac either.
Casey's play was nothing shy of legendary to end 2013.I like to give Casey the proper respect in these discussions. We had a 3 game win streak with him in a season in which we were winless until the last three games. He threw for record yardage in one of those games and he was a flawless decision maker. BS is great and I'm thrilled to have him but to say he's hands down the best since Dan O. is disrespectful. Casey was excellent and the sky was the limit with him. Unfortunately, the OL was so bad it ended his career. The fact that his life was completely changed by concussions suffered playing for our beloved Huskies, makes me a bit defensive about people forgetting how good he was when healthy and given the opportunity to play.
No, but missing your best receiver standing alone in the end zone is fair to point out. He never looked his way and 2 seconds later was flushed from the pocket setting up the first 4th and nope.
Give Sheriff LSU's backs and criticism would dampen quick enough.
Or Fournette UCONN'S line and see how that goesHow about we give Shirreffs and Newsome LSU's offensive line instead.
Were any of them Offensive linemen? Was talking to some football players last night at a party and they love Shirreffs and having him behind center. They were all saying to give them one more under Diaco and watch out. Very excited and optimistic for this team moving forward with Shirreffs and Newsome being just sophomores
I am flabbergasted that this board, as QB-thirsty as we are, is critical of a kid who THREW FOR 370 yards and RAN FOR 100 yards.

Yup, I was talking to an offensive lineman most of the night. Matt Peart was his name, freshman offensive lineman. Really nice kid. Were any of them Offensive linemen?
kid is a Baller. Stop being a hater. Enjoy it.
No, it doesn't. No more than critics of any aspect of the program makes them haters. We all have one collective goal: to see UConn football continue to improve and gain prominence. Our current coaches and players have given us reason to be hopeful. Along the way we will have plenty to debate about. Pointed comments will undoubtedly be made. That's part of the discourse. That's makes me a hater?
