In the same day we saw film of Mo Jefferson confounding defenders and the live performance by the freshman Hrynko as DePaul's bright spot. They reminded me of each other.

Very quick and deceptive dribblers, leading to good penetration. Both have the outside shot as well. Hrynko did have nine turnovers, so I'd like the comparison to end there and will cite great UConn defense.

Was impressed enough with Hrynko's game to look up her Hoopgurlz page. They ranked her only 99th in Kaleena's class, with a grade of 92 and despite an enthusiastic review by Mr. Lewis.

Another of those players that you see and you think "Where was UConn when this girl was recruited?" Well, some players everybody knows about, and others stay persistently under the radar. Hrynko was apparently one of the latter group.

Glad you posted this - I was really impressed by her game as well. Uconn has good one on one defenders, but she just consistently blew past the first defender all night - thank god for good help defense!

She was real quick, UConn guards had a tough time keeping her in front of them.

Last night was one of Hrynko's better games. Shot selection and turnovers have been a problem for her. Her FG% is about 34% and her FG% on 3 is about 28% (29-102).

With such a nifty hairdo, it could not be possible for her to not show up on the radar screen.

Which hairdo, Kib? The first half or the second half one? I got confused picking her out late in the game. Thought DePaul had second great backcourt player.
