In the same day we saw film of Mo Jefferson confounding defenders and the live performance by the freshman Hrynko as DePaul's bright spot. They reminded me of each other.
Very quick and deceptive dribblers, leading to good penetration. Both have the outside shot as well. Hrynko did have nine turnovers, so I'd like the comparison to end there and will cite great UConn defense.
Was impressed enough with Hrynko's game to look up her Hoopgurlz page. They ranked her only 99th in Kaleena's class, with a grade of 92 and despite an enthusiastic review by Mr. Lewis.
Another of those players that you see and you think "Where was UConn when this girl was recruited?" Well, some players everybody knows about, and others stay persistently under the radar. Hrynko was apparently one of the latter group.
