this is sort of what I think too. I had it a bit closer, but the concept is the same. I could see UConn with a comfortable lead in the mid 3rd quarter then turning to running it up the middle and punting as Towson slowly climbs back in.28-14 Late Towson score makes is seem closer than it was.
Stop being afraid of success.
art,You guys that are calling this a close game are not getting it. This hype about Towson being one of the best of FCS....it's just that....F Frickin CS....
While I don't expect Weist to tip his hand with MD and Michigan on deck, if Whitmer, Davis and Phillips can't tear it up on Towson, we are in deep trouble this year.
If this OL can't block for Whitmer or open holes for McCombs we are in deep s@@t.
If our DL can't bust through with a 265 LB center we might as well cancel the season.
Stop being afraid of success. We will have success in game one. We will dominate on defense and cause multiple TO's.
We will win this game and if it is close, come talk to me after the game. It won't be damn it.
I'll say it again. If Whitmer can't smoke these guys, we're in trouble.
art,
completely agree with you, but I have the following concerns:
4. Pasqualoni has an aggravating habit of going into a shell with the lead. He isn't going to keep the pedal to the medal well into the 4th quarter. If we have a 2- 3 td lead at halftime, he will try to milk the clock. As we saw last year with Buffalo and again with Temple, a lucky break or a busted play lets teams back into the game because of it. I don't expect that to change.

But ruskin, the decision to call off the dogs doesn't rest with the OC. That is a head coach's call. And no matter what anyone says, Weist doesn't have the authority to over rule the head coach. He makes the game plan, calls the plays, but if the head Coach says call 'em off, he calls 'em off. You can't have the offensive coordinator going against the wishes of the head coach.if this happens it will be a sign TJ is not in full control of the offense. And I would be there's one large athletic director who played football at Michigan who will not be happy about it, never mind this board.

This!!!
In the immortal words of Busta Rhymes, "Powerful impact...BOOM! from the cannon..." Don't be afraid of success, Husky Nation. Accept it. Embrace it. Expect it. THAT'S the scenario...

The score should be a lot to a little. Other than getting the W, the main thing I will be looking for is how we run the football. If we aren't able to average at least 5.0 yards per carry against Towson we may be in for another long season...
Just an FYI - LSU didn't average 5 yds carry against Towson last year.
Just win and come out healthy!
Guess we'll find out who's in charge then Scooter. IMO I believe TJ has more power than you are giving him credit for. No matter how many times Warde denies it, TJ is his man, his hire. This is Bill Stewart/Dana Holgorsen part II. Hope this doesn't end as badly as that did.

The LSU game score was a bit misleading. LSU fumbled the ball 5 times, losing 3 and was sacked 4 times for a loss of 44 yards. They actually did rush for over 5 yards per carry but sack yards killed the average.
LSU played sloppy, uninspired football. If our guys don't turn it over we win comfortably.
Art,But New Hampshire averaged 7 yds per carry.

I say this becuase if you look at last year's opener, we win 37-0 and our defense looked great but in retrospect there was a huge red flag in that we only averaged 3.4 yards per carry. The score should be a lot to a little. Other than getting the W, the main thing I will be looking for is how we run the football. Let's hope this is not the case. Like it or not, P is the head coach. He needs to be in charge. Otherwise.....chaos reigns supreme.
A little more than 48 hours from kickoff and this is all you can talk about? Your conspiracy of GDL calling plays from the bench?
