My favorite Mutombo finger wave moment came after the NBA's ridiculous ruling that he couldn't do the wave in the guy's face anymore, so the fool would turn to the crowd and do it. One time he neglected the rebound and got dunked on as he's waving his dopey finger at the crowd.

I love Verne. It's really amazing that NBC once aired n NFL game with no announcers. Announcers mean a lot to the enjoyment of any contest and the good ones are indispensable. The best are a matter of taste but the great ones make an event always seem bigger than it is.
