Really? That never happened for me. Then again, I installed the desktop app a long time ago and doubt I updated it. Could be a newer version.

In any case, the clearly extension works as a standalone. For those who prefer the light weight option.

Im a Courant subscriber so I get access with my name/password but I logged off and installed Evernote (on a work computer) and all the pay-articles seemed to work with no problem (verified up in the corner that I was logged off)
