Am I mistaken, or was her name mentioned earlier as having an interest in UCONN and UCONN also being interested in her? 6'3", 2nd ranked player in the 2014 class. Would make a nice addition with Sierra.

I think Alex and others with Texas ties know more about her, but Brianna Turner is in the athletic mold of Diamond, only 1" or more taller. She plays above the rim. Some have called her a must-get player. It was mistakenly reported last year that she had verballed to UConn--a Waco reporter allegedly confused her with Breanna Stewart. There is definitely mutual interest.

Turner has "next great one" potential. Getting her out of the Lone Star State not only would help UConn finish the decade strong, but it would really hurt some of our rivals (like A&M and Baylor) who can't miss on Texas kids like her and expect to contend for championships.

In football, it is very difficult to get top players out of Texas (though OU has been historically successful in north Texas, but even they have been backing off lately). In WBB, it's happened a bit more on a percentage basis (Moriah and Alexis Jones from 2012, the Ogwumikes, and so on). UConn is a unique opportunity for a young woman, but Geno and CD still have to sell their Yankee selves to momma and dad.
