Bria Holmes hired as coach at Putnam Science

Former WNBA player and McDonald's All-American Bria Holmes is the new girls basketball coach at Putnam Science

"Holmes, who played at Hillhouse, was the first girls player from Connecticut to play in the McDonald's All-American game and the first to be drafted in the first round of the WNBA Draft when she was taken No. 11 by Atlanta."

"Holmes then played at West Virginia where she made three NCAA Tournament appearances. She ranks third in Mountaineers’ history for career points and made field goals and was the second player in program history to earn All-Conference First Team honors three-straight years."

A great "ground floor" opportunity for Holmes to get her feet wet, cut her chops as a head coach and deal with the challenges of a girl's high school basketball's day-to-day operation/dynamics. Perhaps this will lead to an assistant coach position in a D1 program in a few years. Congratulations to Bria Holmes.
