From the Syracuse Post Standard:

When Cicero-North Syracuse star Breanna Stewart became the latest in a long line of No. 1 national basketball prospects to choose Connecticut, she said one reason swayed her above all others:
The ability to realize her potential.
“They just get the best out of their players,” said the 6-foot-4 senior, who has already excelled on several USA national teams and led the Northstars to last year’s Class AA state title and a top-10 national ranking this season. “There have just been so many players I’ve talked to from that program that have reached their potential there, and hopefully I can do that too.”

Love this quote from Geno: “It remains to be seen how quickly she picks things up and understands what we are trying to do. We are going to adapt to her just as much as she is going to adapt to us.”
I think this is a secret to his success - his offense and defense are not set in stone and he is very good at adapting the team style to the specific players he has and their strengths. That, and his ability to challenge players to address their weaknesses (and coach them up to do so) and never settle for 'good enough' has got to be very attractive to recruits.

It's just truly ridiculous the amount of talent that comes through UConn. Looking at next year's class makes this even more obvious...the Huskies will continue to be a dominant program for years and years (and apologies for sounding too much like tonyc).

I suspect that unless Baylor can beat UCONN next year that UCONN will surpass the consecutive win streak that they previously set.

By Hartley's senior season, UCONN will be untouchable.
