Breanna needs 6 points against Syracuse to pass Diana and move into 4th place on the all time scoring list in NCAA tournament history. 22 more points would move her to 3rd place passing Nnenkadi Ogwumike.

ALL-TIME SCORING LEADERS (tourney games played in parenthesis)

1 - Chamique Holdsclaw 479 (22)
2 - Maya Moore 476 (22)
3 - Nnenkadi Ogwumike 444 (21)
4 - Diana Taurasi 428 (23)
5 - Breanna Stewart 423 (22)* 1 game left
6 - Brittney Griner 403 (18)

Did Breanna not play in one of the NCAA games leading up to one of the three previous titles? If she played in every NCAA, tomorrow night's game makes game 24 not 23. Just asking :)

She didn't play in the first-round game against Idaho her freshman year.

Yes I believe she missed one game her freshman year due to an ankle injury.
Just checked the archives on UConn's website and indeed she is not listed in the box score of the opening round game of the 2013 tournament against Idaho State.

Maya needed 1 more game for the record ... and a 3rd championship. Alas, it didn't happen.

Correct. I was there.

I don't recall the opponent, but Stewie missed the first game.

Kaleena played all 6 games and was fabulous. She was named All-American as a sophomore.

Thanks to all for setting me straight. My memory isn't what is used to be.
