I thought this was a very insightful article and shows why going to UConn makes a difference. Pat Riley talks a lot about how Bazz can play the pro style pick and roll offense. Also mentioned is the pro background Bazz got with KO and Walker. The conversations and play at LeBron's summer camp was something I had not read elsewhere but had heard about. Playing at UConn gets you those kinds of opportunities. Quite frankly, some but not all players make the most of it. Bazz did. Of course the chip on the shoulder he carries every day, despite great success, makes me think of someone else who has that trait - Coach Calhoun.
LeBron never called Riley about Bazz - He did not need to but don't think what the best player in the game thinks doesn't matter. LeBron gets to see many of the college guys at his camp so he isn't just talking from watching TV.

Wow. Chief when I saw the title I just knew you made some phone calls. Pleasantly surprised.
Don't believe the haters - for that's all they have to offer. Judge me by what I write not by mischaracterizations. But yes, knowing that Bazz's relationship with LeBron was more than just watching the final 4 on TV, helped to understand what was about to happen.

Great article. Thanks, Chief.
Bazz in Miami is another plus for our program, assuming LJ returns. Lot's of TV exposure and

BTW, would Bazz have been there for the Heat if they hadn't traded up? I don't think Charlotte really wanted another undersized PG.

I agree Bazz was not on Charlotte's needs list. They did get cash and a couple draft picks - so they made the most of it. Riley must not have been happy about how public it became how badly Bazz was wanted - puts a bigger price on getting him via trade.
