BRAYLON ONIONS!!!!

Damn it, Mullins. I'm in tears. Everyone at work asking me if I'm OK.

The Hurley interview and Mullin's response should be recorded and playing to every new recruits.
This is so good man. Braylon on Hurley: “He’s my role model. He’s the person I look up to. He’s the best coach I’ve ever had.”

@RuffRuff what about those Indiana podcasters who said Mullins and his people don’t want him “standing alone in the corner all game” 😉

.-.
As UConn fans familiar with Mullins ( the rest of the world not that familiar)) we know not only his shooting ability but how quickly he shoots the ball. Not only that but his usual shot release when he gets a window is immediate and quicker than almost anyone. That shot was not rushed to him.

That’s one of the best things about that play—how clean it looks after that steal, two crisp passes into a Mullins shot that looked just like so many others we’ve seen him take

I know it's just silly postulation, but if there was another Husky I'd have had in that situation it would be Cam.

Regardless, Cam was not there. Braylon was, and he fricking nailed it.

Another silly postulation. Demary was there, and he stole the ball and passed it to Karaban, who passed to Mullins, and the rest in history.

It's always fun to imagine how past stars would've handled the situation.

It doesn't really matter because we have our current stars, knowing exactly how they would handle the exact same situation: Demary was there, and he stole the ball and passed it to Karaban, who passed to Mullins, and the rest in history.
Pretty sure Cam would have done something like just utterly bulldozed big boozer, picking up a T, to fire the team up.

Perhaps the biggest reason for UConn having a seemingly outsized amount of success is that UConn has had a large number of clutch players that could make big shots in big moments.

All the discussion of greatest shots in UConn history and no one (that I saw) mentioned Ray Allen's shot against Georgetown in the BET. And they were right not to, because that iconic shot isn't in the top 5.

Another wrinkle in this was how poorly Braylon was shooting before this shot, especially from 3. Which ironically is similar to Ray's performance, seeing how he missed his previous 14 shots before that game winner (he finished 4 for 19).

I'm sure we all agree that trading all those missed 3s recently from Mullins for this winning SHOT was 100% worth it !

Now, hopefully Mullins can get going from the outside as his shooting will be needed.

Braylon's game winner is reported as 35 feet. But he was off to the side and at least as far as the start of the mid-court logo. Half-court is 47 feet. Anybody else think the shot was longer than 35 feet?
It looks to be about a 40 footer.

I think that shot plus returning to Indiana will give him a ton of positive momentum and energy. Now he needs to get off to a strong start.

I'd say 35'-36'. Midcourt would be less than 43' because the backboard is 4' inside the end line. The 3 point line is 22' 1 3/4" from the center of the hoop so it should be about 20' from the arc to midcourt. The midcourt circle is supposed to have a 6' radius but it looks much larger than that, like closer to 10'
