Its awesome to see a Uconn bound kid get these types of accolades. Cant wait to watch him next season.
I had the same thought about myself when I was in Maui for the 2nd game between Michigan State-Colorado. I heard the introductions say "Jason Richardson Jr.". I had to pause and think, "I think I have heard this name before" until I realized, "Oh damn I watched his father play in Michigan State and his entire NBA career".Very cool… also, dammit, I’m old. Two Boozer’s, Obinna Ekezie Jr., and Marcus Spears Jr.

FWIW Darryn Peterson was named the Naismith High School Player of the Year today and not AJ Dybantsa. That didn't surprise me that much but what did surprise me in this article is that Jonathan Givony has Peterson being drafted overall number 1 over number 2 Dybantsa. I thought Dybantsa was supposed to be the best prospect in the last 10-15 years? Is this going to be like Michael Jordan going 3rd? Or is Peterson really a better prospect? Because that's not what the hype machine has been telling us.

Peterson is that good. And he’s not nearly the me first hot dog AJ is. Flagg is the best US prospect of the last 10-15.FWIW Darryn Peterson was named the Naismith High School Player of the Year today and not AJ Dybantsa. Oats and golden never leaving for indiana. They will have to settle for up and comer or beardSince they are not getting our boy Dan Hurley, or Brad Stevens, Oats would be a great secondary option that I highly doubt they will be able to pull away from Bama. A name that would not shock me is Shaka Smart.
And now back to our regularly scheduled programming, I am so pumped for Mullins — aside from pure bulk, he seems to have it all. Him and Reibe will change the complexion of team next year.
I thought I read a bunch of articles that said Dybantsa is. Looks like they all said Flagg though. Flagg seems to be a better overall player. Dybantsa more potential as a scorer.Peterson is that good. And he’s not nearly the me first hot dog AJ is. Flagg is the best US prospect of the last 10-15.
Dayummm, you old! I think I was 6 and I remember seeing Never Nervous Purvis, Billy Thompson, Herbert Crook, and Milt beating some rat looking guy’s team. The way I see it you must still be a kid.
Milt Wagner was a freshman at Louisville during my senior year of college. His grandson is noe playing college basketball.

Just how good is this kid? Are we talking McNeeley good?Seeing him play puts a smile on my face, knowing the calvary is on the way.
Good question. We’ll find out soon. He’s ranked around the same as McNeeley was. But McNeeley was at Montverde so probably had better training.Just how good is this kid? Are we talking McNeeley good?
IMO opinion yes but he's a very different player than McNeeley. Liam is a lot bigger than Mullins and is better at putting it on the deck at this stage, bodying people and drawing fouls. Mullins a better shooter than Liam and he's a lot quicker than Liam. Won't be as much ballhandling and driving from Mullins at least early on, mostly catch and shoot and he'll stay in front of his man better than Liam on the perimeter.Just how good is this kid? Are we talking McNeeley good?
I hope and expect this kid to be lights out from distance. That said, we expected the same from Liam and he finished the season 31.7% from distance, despite being touted as the best shooter in his class. I'm sure a lot of that was due to him carrying the playmaking burden for a bulk of the year instead of just catch and shoot but still... Let's temper expectations. From what I have seen, which admittedly is limited, but with him and Solo in the game we should be lethal from three. Demary and Smith are both very capable of getting into the lane and then kicking out or lobbing. That is going to put way more pressure on defenses.
Diarra maximized his talent because he truly had the heart of a champion. But his shooting was never a thing that defenders placed a priority on but with both Demary and Smith it will be different.
I think with this roster construction we may see some wrinkles in our sets. I can definitely see us play more inside out than we have in a few years. Offensively I think we are good.
Demary automatically makes us better defensively in the back court.
Still would love to see us pick up a defensive minded big 6’9” at least that we can put into the five spot when Reibe is in the game and the other team has a bigger line up.

I took Mullins' stats with a grain of salt. Shooting is shooting, so if you knock them down at a crazy high percentage in high school, hopefully that eventually translates. But 30 ppg was a reflection on the competition and I don’t think we’ll get a prolific scorer.Just how good is this kid? Are we talking McNeeley good?

But the little bit I saw of him in the McD's game - I like what we're getting. He knows how to play. He was making back cuts, flashing to the open places on the floor, moving with a purpose. And mostly not getting the ball - but he didn’t chuck when he finally did get it even if he would have had a right to. He swung the ball to the open man. He took on defensive challenges too and picked Dybantsa clean and forced Peterson into a contested brick.
Remains to be seen how it translates but he looks like he’ll fit our offense like a glove and he’ll make the players around him better - he won’t just be a shooter waiting for the ball in the corner.
His injury kind of derailed his season. At the end of the game against Florida it became clear that he never really got back to 100%. Even though he was hobbled in that game he still had his second highest points after the injury. All be it with high usage and poor efficiency. His injury derailed his shooting IMO.
