@B_Ingram13: UConn offered.. Done with the late comers. List will be narrowed to 7 end of August. http://post original url/TFWH7WCeC2

To me that sounds like UConn was the last school he may have been waiting for an offer from and now he has everyone he wants.

Would be a great get. Long shot though.

This kid's from NC, with offers from Duke, UNC, UK, KU. Just based on that, would seem like a very long shot.

Doesn't sound promising. The staff seems like they have their eggs in a different basket. Stone and a 2/3 combo would be fine with me

So, wait, UConn offered when he was on an official to Duke?

Good company though. I'd rather be involved with these kids than the ones whose other offers include URI, Seton Hall, and George Mason.

He is from a small town in eastern NC. Same town as former UNC players Reggie Bullock and Jerry Stackhouse. He is one of the top targets of UNC. Will be difficult to get him to leave NC. However as they say "nothing ventured nothing gained" . I guess you never know.

He's from NC, I can't imagine him going somewhere other than UNC or Duke. Call me pessimistic but it just doesn't seem like something I would get hopeful about

All signs point to duke

Name the last highly ranked African American from the state of North Carolina to commit to dook.

Take your time, I can wait. It isn't going to be an easy question to answer. LOL

and he is coached by Stackhouse in AAU ball. However if UNC lands Perry Dozier, I could see Ingram looking elsewhere since they would overlap at the SF spot.

I asked this question on the other thread, and I think I'll ask it here too. Who was the last elite African American recruit from the state of North Carolina to commit to dook? As you try to answer that question, it will become apparent how a certain sect of society in this state feels about dook basketball.

Looks like a kid with big time potential. This may sound crazy but he doesn't look like he's done growing yet. He can barely jump. This is a guy who isn't going to look nothing like this 3 to 4 years from now.

Most kids in NC grow up a UNC fan or State fan. UNC has 5x the alumni in NC vs Duke and State 3+x the alumni. Duke is a distant third in popularity. Duke/ UNC is the best media rivalry, however among the fans UNC vs State is the best fan rivalry by far.

Definitely a long shot but worth a try...let's see if we even make his final 7

We are in way better with Jones, Clarke and Beasley so it's weird to see us try to get in so late with such a top prospect who has strong ties to the NC area

It's always good to have as many irons in the fire, so that when the dominos start to fall and you miss out on plan A or B, you still might land a very talented player. This can happen if your programs is among to top 3 or so that a few recruits have in common.

Yep, KO is as hot as Mugatu on the recruiting trail right now. He's involved with some many big names that it's always good practice to have a fallback option if/when those guys commit elsewhere. KO is recruiting with the big boys and making a serious impression on recruits and their fams...now let's see if he is able to close against some serious competition for some guys like Stone, Newman, Jones, etc

For what it is worth, it sounds like his official to dook did not go that well.

So we will see how this plays out. He took an official to UNC back in January and the official to dook this past weekend. He now has 3 officials left.
