Are they really going to put UConn in Portland and Oregon State in Albany? I'm looking for fans with pitchforks and torches out in the streets.

Of course CC updated after last night's reveal.
The NCAA selection committee uses 14 distinct criteria to determine and seed the 68-team field. The top-16 reveals, like the one we had Thursday, often offer a glimpse of what the committee seems to be emphasizing that year. There seem to be a few common threads to what this 12-member panel values this season. In no particular order: how a team is playing now, the quality of a team's losses, the eye test, nonconference strength of schedule, and top-25 and top-50 wins. The eye test isn't an official criterion, but it seemed to come into play with LSU -- a team playing well with an abundance of talent that is now blending together but also a team lacking quality wins or a good strength of schedule. The Tigers still managed the No. 9 overall spot. Elsewhere, the committee put UCLA on the top line and Oklahoma joined the top 16.

The marking updates are showing CC's changes from last night's reveal. Sigh.

Well...we are now back in nearby Albany but we are in South Carolina's pod of 4.
Like/Don't like...lots of games still to go.

Va. Tech a two seed? Another 'Don't like"

So CC moved UConn from Portland 4 bracket where the reveal last night had them to the Albany 1 bracket with South Carolina. Not sure why he would do that and hard to understand in a vacuum — especially since the Committee had UConn as #10.

Aaannnnnd, putting aside today's update from CC, here's a look at yesterday's take from CC, MG, and the reveal. Agreements of two or more marked.

I'm always reluctant to say I want to play a particular team, because karma can be a bit__. But I'd rather play USC and Ohio State than, for example, Iowa and South Carolina. We owe Ohio State and should be better prepared against a press.

I commented on a different thread but I think the chances of this happening are slim to none. Especially the UCONN scenario--there's no reason they wouldn't swap UCONN with virtually any other 3 seed and put them in Albany, especially considering Albany has two different options for regionals. In 2022 the committee showed UCONN in different regionals during the early reveals but placed them in Bridgeport when the time came. I'd expect more of the same for this year.

I also think UCONN's best bet is to be placed in South Carolina's regional in front of a home crowd. The path to win the title is through South Carolina, and they have not looked great in road games this year. It'll be a much more doable task beating them in Albany than Cleveland.

Does Colorado and Utah fall out of the hosting brackets due to their losses today against unranked Washington State and Washington?
