I'm confused, is he predicting Houston to win the conference tournament? That's a little odd.

It's based on who is in first at this moment, but he must have screwed something up.

Figured it out. SMU isn't eligible so HOU is auto-qualifier. Duh.

At this point it's useless to get into this until we win in conference meaningful games.

At this point-I'd be ecstatic if that happens. This team is capable of beating any of those 7 seeds. But of course is capable of losing to anybody too

Exactly right. This team is capable of beating teams as good as UNC and Nova on our best days and losing to any team in the field on our worst days.

What makes you think that. Can you point to our best day this season that looks anything like say the Oklahoma/ kansas game? I'm sorry, I have not seen a game this year that makes me think we are able to play with a top 10 team. The one legit team we played this year made us look silly. And I don't want to hear about a fools gold comeback.

We also blew out the team that just beat Maryland (the team you are speaking of).

The team that has played the last 4 games isn't beating anyone though

Transitive comparisons are the worst thing in sports. I get it for the RPI usage, not for stuff like you are proposing. There is not a single game this year where you can say " oh that team is a contender" about UConn not one single game. Think about it.

Comparing us in our two worst games to Houston's best. How convenient for the 'sky is falling' theme this week.

Houston a good, athletic team, but we don't know which version of Hamilton/UConn we will see tomorrow. There's a lot of fluidity and parity this year.

I did, the Michigan game. We looked great and blew out a good team.

I wouldn't really call that a blowout. But if you want to use an early November decent win against a team that hasn't sniffed the top 25 all year ( maybe this week they will) as the high water mark of our season you are kinda making my point for me. We have looked out of sorts in full games or parts of every game ever since.

Also I would put our Texas road win ahead of Michigan win this year as more impressive. But there has been no game where it all has clicked since Michigan and if that was our A game it isn't good enough to beat the top 10 teams imo

I agree for resume sake the Texas win was more impressive but we played and looked better against Michigan I thought.

Also, Michigan has not only sniffed the Top 25, but have actually been ranked numerous weeks this year.

I could point to the OSU game where we looked great, but that team, despite having some goods wins is not very good.

We have played bad the last 4 games, but Texas was 5 games ago.

I agree with the overall sentiment though, but I do think we have shown flashes, Michigan, Texas, OSU, 2nd half v. Zags, where I thought the team could play with almost anyone, maybe my glasses are way to blue though - would not be the first time I overvalued a Husky team.

Based on this past week, Clemson is going to run the table and win the national title

Not bad. It means the AAC would have 4 teams if SMU wasn't disqualified.

Did anyone think we were a contender in 2014?

Memphis in as Lunardi's "Auto-Qualifier".....if UConn or Cincy wins AAC tourney then just 2 from AAC by his estimation and Cincy barely hanging in. Still early with 13 league games left for most.....could be a 1 bid league or up to 3.

3 wouldn't be a bad year considering it would be 4 if SMU was eligible. The conferences we are similar to would have similar numbers, NBE is probably getting 4 and A10 is getting 2 maybe 3.

1 would suck.

It wouldn't be four. He projects the leader to win the conference so it would be SMU, UConn, and Cincy. Teams like Houston and Memphis would not be close to making it since they have been 13 and 14 seed autobids. And if SMU were eligible, I'd bet the life savings that either UConn, Cincy, or SMU wins the autobid.
