When asked to explain their decision, the NCAA said that they thought winning the regular season game and title was the decider. When the ESPN interviewer pointed out that the teams had in fact tied for the regular season title and that UConn also won the tournament the official stammered and ended the interview. As you can see I carry things a lot longer than would seem healthy but I would be able to put this sore point to bed if N Dame won the tournament and then got a 2 seed based on that regular season loss.
