NICE! (on the L'vols not hosting)...

As for ND's easiest bracket, I'd take our 2 seed Az State any day of the week and twice on Sunday. They just got pasted by Oregon State, the 2 seed in Baylor's bracket. Also I think ND's 2 seed (Texas) is tough. SC vs OSU would be a fun game too - Great offense vs. great defense.

But I agree - Maryland should not be the 3 seed in our bracket and aTm should be switched with Michigan State. But... I'd love to face aTm - put a 30+ point beatdown on them and show the SEC how it's done...

I meant to add - Not sure I agree with Nova (14-8) and Indiana (13-9) being so close to getting in when Temple (13-7) and Tulane (15-6) aren't mentioned at all. Temple is 7-2 in the American and Tulane is 6-3.

In Bridgeport region,
How can Maryland #5 rank and is #3 seed, and Arizona State #10 (or 8) rank is #2 seed?
Maryland should be in Sioux Falls as #2 seed.

Sometimes I think Charlie gets a complimentary bottle of something just before bracketology time!

I think two #3 seeds are more dangerous than most of the #2 seeds - Louisville looks legit after a really slow start and even with their weak OOC Maryland looks dangerous. They also have the advantage of having been there in the recent past.

Because he tries to guess what the committee thinking is - and this time around he has their top 10 list that had Maryland at #9

Can't wait for the real brackets to be announced. That will give us 4-5 days to analyze, break down, speculate and do a little prognosticating before the games begin. This will be the time for all of the self proclaimed experts to chime in with their picks and locks.

For the rest of us novices who fill out a bracket(s), It's always fun to see how right or wrong we were with our picks. My bracket is usually busted by the end 2nd round. There's always a "dark horse" that awakens after a long winter hibernation, that all of a sudden gets ambitious (figures it out); and comes out smokin', playing like their lives depend on the outcome, and screws up our brackets.

As I've said many times; for a basketball fan, THIS (March madness) is the most wonderful time of the year. It's nirvana in its most purest form. Christmas is only 1 day. March madness lasts for 3 weeks. And for the last 3 years, (IMHO) has ended on a perfect note! ;)

Busted brackets for Carnac? I thought Carnac was all knowing and can "divine" the results without seeing the actual games.

Even if Creme is trying to anticipate the committee's thinking, Tennessee as a #5 is just ludicrous. They have the worst record of any team in the top-50 of the NCAA RPI with the exception of #48 Dayton and the worst road record of anyone in the top-50 with the exception of #41 Rutgers. And no way can 9 SEC teams be justified. Maryland as a #3 and Arizona St. as a #2. Idiotic!

Yes - but you will make the same comments when the committee completes its work and announces the real seeding. As long as RPI remains as fundamental statistic in their deliberations, the NCAA committee will continue to make extremely boneheaded decisions. That Creme continues to emulate their brain dead deliberations is a tribute to what he sees his job to be - reading the tea leaves of the committees cup and predicting how they will decide their weighty issues. This is not trying to design the perfect bracket himself, but the closest he can come to what a 'horse drawn by a committee' will look like. We should be so lucky as to get a representation of a camel!

Oh, don't misunderstand me. I agree completely that Charlie Creme is just trying to read the tea leaves. RPI is a joke and have said so numerous times. Yesterday in the "Top 10 seeds announced" thread in fact. You have to wonder whether those responsible for the RPI even watch any games because the simple eye test would tell them how wrong they've got it.

I kinda like those brackets. AZ St as our #2 seed. Sweet. Don't think it'll last though. Maryland will prolly end up with a 2.

But Ohio St./S. Carolina Elite Eight - great game. Texas/ND Elite Eight another great game.

Upset special--- UAlbany, a 12 seed, beats #5 Kentucky and pulls an upset in the next round, too! Take this to your bank....:):):)

I would give JMU a realistic shot against Tennessee in the first round.

Of course I am biased, but, don't count Louisville out. Our team of youngsters has come together nicely. Of course, they are youngsters so anything can happen in one and done games. Should this bracket hold (which I doubt it will), I love our chances to make it to a matchup with SC.

During our abysmal start this season, I held true to the statement that Louisville will make noise in March. With a very lucky bracket placement, I can easily see up in an E8 matchup...and Walz is dangerous with an under the radar team and getting them mentally prepared. Not holding my breath for a FF appearance, but it would not shock me either.

Walz has to be ACC Coach of the Year in my mind. Maybe even National Coach of the year. Especially when you look at other very young teams (Duke and TN) and how they are doing, makes Walz's success with this young team even more impressive.

I don't count you guys out. In fact I thought Louisville would be much better than they have shown so far this year. Maybe you guys will get there.

Thank you Jenny for using the word "biased" correctly. Nine out of ten posters seem to think that "bias" is an adjective rather than a noun. "Those refs were bias against us." Very irritating ignorance (to me). Aarrgghh!

Bias can be used as an adjective, noun, adverb, or verb.

Howdy from the Big 12 Conference.

We are seeing some UUGGuuLLLYY and inconsistent bball, from top (BU) to bottom (TTech). TTech and KState most recently have come through Waco and except for KState's one post, had no one who would push any of our top rotation. And for the first time in a long time, the vacuum of talent at TTech is such that I'm not sure they have anyone in their starting 5 that would even make our bench. Sad for the conference. Lot's of formerly great programs just don't have the wheels any more (eg OU, and that is really sad given how much I respect Coale).

And, either we're capable of being better than I thought we could be OR UTexas is a myth. At mid 3rd quarter we had then down by 19 IN AUSTIN when some of our first-years just didn't quite understand the psyche of closing out a statement win in someone else's house and the game ended much closer than it was. Final game of the conference is Baylor vs. UTex in Waco. Should be fun.

Would be honored to be a top 4 in Indy, even if it meant having to take on your guys in the first round (aka Creme's latest projection). We've still got lots of work to do to break back through the Elite 8 losses in recent years. We're getting there, but not there yet until we prove it in late March, hopefully in the Dallas regional.

Kudos to Creme for the story on Stewart's growing up years.

Baylorprof - fun to see you back on here. We have easttexastrash to keep us real, but always like your visits. I was surprised that TX didn't give a better showing against you guys, too. I think they too are 'learning' what elite basketball means after years in the wilderness. The rest of the Big12 is disappointing and the excuse for bad OOC because the conference schedule is so tough no longer has any validity. Glad Kim is finally breaking out for some better OOC scheduling and very pleased we are back on the schedule. This year's OOC is certainly better than the previous few, but with teams as good as Baylor, just scheduling 'ranked' teams is not enough, you really need to include some top ten opponents.
I certainly expect you in the elite 8, and depending on how the match-ups work will be surprised if you are not back to the FF this year. Big question as always with freshman starters is will the moment be 'too big', but you have good experience at four positions so that probably will not be the issue.

(TX with their recruiting should continue to grow - this year they are still the team that got taken apart in the NCAAs last year, but they will 'grow up' I think.)

I still visit the Baylor board form time to time, but without the head to head, and with pretty divergent schedules and no controversies I haven't been around there that often this year - visit the TN site often just to observe the train wreck!

That's not always a good thing . . . . . . . !

Nope. Not correctly, that is. Noun or verb, yes. Adjective or adverb, no. Try to think of an example.
Look it up in the dictionary.

Look it up in the dictionary.
You are correct that bias can be used as an adjective or adverb, but it means something completely different when used that way. As an adjective or adverb, bias refers to something that is oriented diagonally. When posters on the Boneyard use bias as an adjective as in "He is a bias poster," they are using the word incorrectly, which is the situation to which Zorro is referring. What posters should write is "He is a biased poster" or "That poster is revealing his bias." If you actually knew the difference, then you are being intentionally obtuse. If you didn't know the difference, then you are showing your ignorance.
