Odd timing for that tweet. PP said he would have started Boyle vs. USF in his farewell presser

As it remains to be seen if the guy making the decision here will be a stakeholder at the back end of Boyle's eligibility I don't believe that this is the correct decision.

That said, I feel more comfortable about putting this kid into an offense that will truly be run by Weist and Day than what he would have been thrown into if today's moves were not made.

really - why would Casey go in against Buffalo and not Boyle, if he was 'prepared'?

Coach PP is coaching from the grave. Next he tell us "Coach Weist designed 100% of our plays this season....and I wanted to give Hypolite and DeLorenzo 30 carries last week but Weist said no." And "Buffalo was supposed to be our last week for zone blocking."

Paul Pasqualoni said he was planning to start Tim Boyle at QB against USf

PP reveals he thinks Weist will go with Tim Boyle at QB. They prepared him as such before Buffalo.

Just had call with Pasqualoni. He said, unless we misheard him, that Boyle was going to be the QB.

who cares what he says or thinks. he had his say and the program suffered with his thinking. TIME TO MOVE ON

There is literally an entire genre of books written by German Generals that basically said "if only had Hitler listened to me then we would would have won the war".

Time for P to STFU. Good riddance.

If Boyle is truly the best QB on the team right now, he should start, redshirt be damned.

I'm not in on the practices so I have no idea if he is, but to me all this talk of reshirting kids is stupid IF during there first year they are able to get on the field and help win games. I'm not as concerned about the 2017 Huskies as I am about the 2013-2016 Huskies

You gotta wonder if IHCTJW will actually start Boyle against USF, or put Whitmer back in. Cochren at this point seems pointless given his inexpirence if they were all discussing Boyle as a serious option.

Didn't PP say after the game, or at the very least imply, that he didn't put Boyle in for a few plays because he didn't want to burn his RS year? So how do his remarks about planning to start Boyle against USF now square with his actions of last Saturday?

Im pretty certain that PP said that they were not interested in putting Boyle in the mess that was UCONN vs. Buffalo 2013.

Okay - then go with what TJW intimated - "Weist said that player personnel decisions will be ongoing. Most notably, he didn’t rule out playing Tim Boyle, who he helped recruit when he arrived in January."

Does Lagow have any interest in coming back? Whose seat is he keeping warm at Oklahoma State?

Additionally, it is crazy that we have to wait 3 minutes between posts, even while posting in different threads.

I'll also say that if the staff was starting to think of Boyle as a better alternative over the past few weeks, maybe having him get 8 games under his belt starting in two weeks - with at least a somewhat different offensive take on things - and the lowly USF Bulls - might be a jolt for this football team.
Weist in charge, Foley on the line, Boyle under center, and USF in the house. A potential grand slam of goodness.

As per JS - "Pasqualoni said he didn’t feel comfortable putting him in in that situation."

Signature worth quote. I'd do it but nothing trumps 11 national championships.

Really dont think this is a good idea. Why burn the kids year ? For what to try to get to five or six wins? The fact it was coach p planning should tell u to stay away

Let's agree that he is the best QB and he should start against USF. Why would you announce this so far ahead of the game. Take advantage of the surprise of a QB change a day or two before the change.

Not sure there is a difference Hank. They have no film of him in a UConn games. It's not like we are moving to a DT QB like KT.

Do you really think USF is going to have a drastic change in approach if Boyle is under center compared to Whitmer?
