I didn't see the game. Now Gabby was 6 for 6 on free throws, and no other player was awarded more than 2. Was Gabby the only one driving to the basket?

The thing I'm happiest about is the FT%. Kudos to Gabby for working so hard on it during the off season. Oh, and she only committed 1 foul which means if she was driving to the hoop, she wasn't fouling on the drives...

I just posted in another thread: Gabby has improved about .300 points from last year and is now at .765!

From the radio broadcast, it sounded as if Stewie should have had 15 FTAs. She was hammered all game long.

The team leads the nation at .796.

Combination of things, chief: Memphis used a zone that made it a bit tough to drive to the hoop, and, as others have noted, not a lot of whistles regardless of contact. UConn shot 10 FF, Memphis 4, 19 fouls total in the entire game. For those of us who remember a single team, say, Tennessee, going to the line 3 dozen times all by themselves, it's quite a contrast.

its was a clean game... happy for Gabby's improved FT shooting and I didnt think Stewie was getting hammered.

Gabby normally pick up her fouls d'ing up on the perimeter, hand checks and/or boding up on the opponent... but they had Gabby playing BIG most of the game to me, so she wasnt out there getting those "silly fouls" beyond the 3 pt line

She got hit in the face one time and nothing was called. I guess the officials did not see it.

I know trying to figure out Geno's thinking by how many minutes folks are playing is very "iffy" stuff (because time outs may not fall at the right moment or he may want to see different combinations) but it's beginning to look like he's stretching out the time of 4 of the starters, and giving Gabby and Natalie about equal time, all in anticipation of Morgan's return, at least, for key games. Natalie's role this year is probably still situation dependent--but the other 6 will surely get the most minutes down the stretch. (This is not news!)
