I thought Brianna gave some good minutes tonight. She was driving into the paint and getting some stuff going there, something Caroline can't do with regularity, and after the first half's futility from beyond the arc, Geno probably told Brianna to mix it up some. A good outing for her tonight and a real confidence booster.

Agreed. We have a solid every-game rotation of seven kids, with Buck having a situational role. Brianna kind of has as well, but I'd love to see Geno consistently trust Banks enough to put her in to spell guards to give them some rest, when they are in foul trouble, etc. If she can bring some good things to the table without taking much off it, she'll be in just that position. We may need nine kids at some point in the tourney.

I think Doty is having physical problems. Auriemma has several times that her minutes depend on how her knee is doing. I know she was reaching for her brace a couple of times last night. He has also said that she's often in pain and that her knee swells every game. It's possible that her situation is something similar to Hunter's. I believe he intentionally limited her minutes last night to give her a break. She played well in the 12 minutes she was in the game.

I don't remember exactly what he said but he mentioned that the outcome of the SJ game would have been different had Doty been able to play.

Yes, CD' did because the most important thing that Caroline brings is stability. She has 33 tournovers on the year and the vast majority came in two or three games. As it is that is 33 TOs in 27 games. Drop out those two or three games and it is less than one a game. That is stability and taking care of the rock.

That's my feeling too. As someone who has had multiple knee surgeries to the same knee (including, finally, a TKR) I can tell you that knee pain can be quite unpredictable: one minute you're fine, the next minute you can barely take a step -- and the pain isn't always due to overworking the knee either. Knee pain, sometimes, makes no sense whatsoever!

That's discouraging to hear.. can't help but feel bad for someone who has all the talent to take over a game, but her body just won't allow it.. playing at ALL after 3 ACL surgeries on the same knee is nothing less than a miracle in the first place, I hope she's able to do some serious physical therapy and conditioning this off season
