Bowl Games (Non-UConn)

I wonder if that elbow of his ever came all the way back from the surgery. He throws some good passes and he throws some softballs, and it doesn’t seem by choice.
Wasn’t aware he had surgery, but yes, it looked like a few times he needed to zip the ball or put some air under it that the ball came out without enough energy to get the requisite velocity or distance

Happy for Indiana. As several have posted here it shows what's possible for any program that's willing to make the commitment to this new paradigm. Is this what the CFB power consolidators were envisioning? I think they let Genie out of the bottle.

And now gratuitous pic of Barbara Eden:

EDIT: Also anyone who takes out The Convicts is ok in my book.

Yeah I believe he had the same surgery Brock Purdy had. The ball just doesn't always seem to have the juice on it when he lets it go.

They called an unsportsmanlike conduct on IU for celebrating the interception that effectively ended the game. How many times did Miami players pose over the vanquished, or celebrate their first downs by pretend gunfire?

Eh. I'm old.

Get off my lawn.

The IU player took his helmet off while running through the end zone celebrating the INT. Taking your helmet off on the field is a no brainer personal foul for unsportsmanlike conduct.
.

Always keep your helmet on...
I'd love to know what was said between them. No one has ever said a bad word about that Fletcher kid, and twitter had a bunch of stuff about him congratulating Mendoza, etc.

.-.
Cignetti always credits IU President Pam Whitten and AD Scott Dolson for laying the limestone for success.

I live in Orlando and work with a LOT of Florida fans. They may hate Miami more than UConn fans and claim only out of state UM alumni root for them. But only if they’re winning

No kidding...there was nothing but praise for him most of the year and technically still an HS senior...some talented player. Very curious to hear what was going on there.

I think you have him confused with the Toney kid. Fletcher is the kid who's dad passed away last year. Some people say the Indiana kid said something about it, but it's all speculation. There had to be something said to provoke that sort of response, but its between them and we will probably never know.

The 'only if they're winning' part is very true. Their attendance in a season where they'll end up ~ 8-5 is BC like.

You're right, thought it was Fletcher...

……but I have no idea what constitutes pass interference anymore. The refs were consistent all game, but my god!
Yeah, both teams got away with mugging the receivers all game long, but especially Miami. There were plays that definitely would've been called holding if an OL did it (2 hands grabbing the jersey by the shoulder pads), but somehow DBs are allowed to do it?

And I can't get over the deliberate crown of the helmet uppercut/headbutt/whatever to Mendoza's chin that went unflagged, was absolutely targeting. The commentators were blathering on about him not being defenseless, but it should be automatic when you use your helmet like that.

Very Jim Calhoun-esque
Except in 2 years. Granted the portal and NIL have changed timelines but everyone is playing under the current rules. The job Cignetti has done is insane.
