OT: Boston Marathon winners on Monday

Sharon Lokedi won the women's race with a course record of 2:17.22...over 2 minutes
faster than the previous record. First American was Jess McClain...7th place.
Sharon is from Kenya...zero surprise that a Kenyan won the race.

Men's winner was John Korin...also from Kenya zero surprise again...he ran the second fastest winning time
ever with 2:04.45. First American was Conner Mantz...finished 4th...also a fast time...under 2:06.

Congrats to all the runners..a super day for distance running.

Korir tripped and fell at the start, but recovered very well. He also won in Chicago last year, and his brother previously won Boston.

I also noted that Des Linden, the last American to win at Boston in 2018, announced that she would be retiring from the marathon after today's race. She is 41 and finished 17th. One of my favorites.

Don’t know where you were today Meyers but I was at mile 23.2 and when the leaders passed it was on the warm side and the sun was beating down. Pretty sure it was that way for the last 5 miles of the men’s race.
