Good read even if a rehash of what we already know.

Be happy he doesn't write for the Courant. He'd be doing the same thing to you guys.

He makes it sound like Cal's biggest mistake was to insult a fellow Globe writer. Very Jeff Jacobs-esque.

I give Memphis fans credit for one thing, they aren't building shrines to the squid.

Journalists are like referrees: They're supposed to be impartial and just report on what they see, just like refs are supposed to call what they see, but they often have egos the size of the gym and make issues all about them. The ref doesn't like the way a coach is treating him? Your team is going to get a quick whistle, or the coached will get T'd up in the blink of an eye. Reporter doesn't like your reaction to his story? You're going to get dumped on in the media, and it will never go away as long as that writer has a pen in his hand (as you can see in this story).

Another thing they have in common: we, the public, don't give a damn about their personal battles with athletes and coaches. Just do your ****ing job.
