It's TJ's show now and the boys respond.

It's actually the defense that locks this one up. Believe it or not, Lyle, Max, Hypolite and Clax combine for 150 yards on the ground and I think we pull a guard who seals off a LB (honest, it could happen). Boyle struggles early, but settles in with a respectable 11-20-0-1, 160.

We had to wait until October for a W, but there it is.

UConn 27 - USF 6

We have a "coming out party", and USF continues its abysmal record in games where the temperature is lower than 55F...

(10 day forcast says slightly warmer, but what the heck do they know?)

We are fired up from the coaching change, finally get our first W of 2013. I don't see USF doing much on offense....letdown game for them as well after the victory vs Cincy.

USF's starting QB Bench had an MRI on his knee today so we will likely see Eveld who made his first start against us in 2010. Their star RB Shaw left yesterday's game with a hamstring injury so he is questionable.

If we can't win this game...... I say 24-10, good guys.

OK I'll bite. Back to being a homer. Weist-Boyle magic takes over.

I say UConn 4 South Florida 2 (4OT) As both offenses continue to struggle and self destruct. UConn wins in the 4th OT when a USF trick play goes horribly wrong and the ball carrier gets spun around and inexplicably runs the wrong way, and dives into the wrong endzone where he is ruled down and UConn is awarded a safety, its second of the game. USF's saftey comes when Taylor Mack tries to run back another missed field goal and gets tackled in his own endzone.

For the first time in a couple of years I see a glimmer of hope.

Baby Steps, but an ugly 17-13 UConn victory. A work in progress with the OL, but sowing the seeds of improvement over the rest of the season.
