I know we wont do it but this is the only way we save our athletic programs

JUCOs and Transfers. It's how BSU and Utah came up in the MWC, how KSU did it years ago with Snyder in the Big 12 and how Ville did it when it was in Conference USA. We're going to have to take some questionable kids to win games.

If we're not willing to do that we'll just have to focus on improving academics and be happy playing UMass and Tulane.

Oh and we have to fire PP and GDL - possibly more than anyone else they are to blame for why we are still in the Big East.

Hire Bobby Petrino if he's willing to coach in the POS conference.

We're going to have no money for any sort of credible coach in this conference. At best we will have and up and comer looking to move up. I'm all for the Bill Snyder approach. Question is, can we find a Bill Snyder in our current predicament? Snyder is basically Jim Calhoun in football. A guy who gave his all to build an athletic power from the ground up.

Agree with all except Petrino.

Take the 10 Mil we would have used buying out of the Big East and go buy a great coach with an awesome staff.

This is something the school actually has control over.

You guys would be crazy not take a shot at Petrino. Yes, he is morally challenged and ethically compromised but, he is also one of the top three offensive minds in all of college football. Yes, at some point he will leave for greener pastures but, it will take him AT LEAST a good 3-5 years to rebuild his reputation to the point that another program would take him. By then he would have you all in a substantially better place than you are now. Wherever he has been, he has proven two things: that he can win without five star talent because his scheme is that good and, that skill position kids want to play for him because his offense is awesome. I guarantee that if uconn was to hire Petrino, you wouldn't have any trouble packing your stadium.
