Boeheim calls out Ken Pom

After getting smoked by Louisville.

Kinda confused. Cuse is the 26th best offensive team in the country according to KenPom. Their defense is what sucks (it’s in the 130’s). Maybe Boeheim needs a reading lesson.

Ah, I guess if he was complaining about defense that makes sense. The zone sucks when you have teams that can make open shots.

The zone sucks when you don’t have athletes that can force turnovers, limit ball movement and stop 3 pointers. The successful Syracuse zones were tall, lanky guards and a dominating shot blocker in the middle. Boeheim hasn’t recruited well and his zone has suffered.

I guess I’m the only one who doesn’t think it was that bad. He’s said much worse at times. This one was not in that category to me

Bohiem needs to be put out to pasture. I don’t get why any kid would want to play for this whiny nose picking dufuss.

Strong disagree. He should stay there until he's 90
Ha ha, yeah. He should stay until he has no control over his bodily functions. Has to change his diaper at halftime.

Agreed, not that bad. He was arguing that individual defensive metrics in a zone are extremely difficult to chart and those analytics shouldn't be taken seriously.

The zone works when you play defense with five octopi. Otherwise there is a lot of room for the opposing offense.

It's always fun to laugh at Boeheim but he did make some good points; Pomeroy even said as much on Twitter.

They don't. See Akok and Jackson. And other 2021 recruits.

The only reason they manage to field a team is because the assistants do all the heavy lifting. Ignoring all the other annoying things about Boeheim, he's just from a different era. He doesn't know how to connect with kids like he could in the 90s. I think Calhoun retired at a perfect time--just before the hailstorm of social media influences and branding really kicked off in a big way.
