>>No FBS kicker is still perfect with at least ten field goals, but LSU junior Trent Domingue has a chance, connecting on all nine of his attempts, the most in the nation by a kicker without a miss. At 13-for-14, UCLA senior Ka’imi Fairbairn’s 92.9% accuracy is the best of the double-digit kickers. Connecticut junior Bobby Puyol (92.3), Western Kentucky senior Garrett Schwettman (91.7) and Stanford senior Conrad Ukropina (91.7) round out the list of semifinalists connecting at better than a 90% rate.<<

Puyol really has had a nice season. The blocked EPs seem to be in the past (knocking on wood) and he's been very accurate. His kickoffs have been solid too. Good for him - hopefully Tarbutt will get a RS year next season if Puyol can keep it going.

He has quietly put too together a very nice year. His kickoffs the last few games have been great.

I believe his only miss was an ill-conceived 44 yarder into the wind against USF that hit the goal post. It was amazing he was that close and it had plenty of distance.

He recovered nicely. Give credit to the coaches for recognizing the Extra Point problem was partially due to poor blocking- and making the changes.

The second part required Puyol to his impact point on the kick to get the ball up higher more quickly. He fixed what he could fix and the coaches fixed what they could fix. And it worked. Weird.

And he has continued to earn the staff's trust resulting in fewer paralysis by analysis of the coaches inside the red zone. He made the decision simple. Send in Puyol, put 3 points on the board.

He's got to be the best kicker we've seen at UConn (as long as he continues next season). I said this to a friend and he said that he thought Teggart was better, but I've never felt so confident with a UConn kicker out 40+

Not ready to go there. Teggart was a huge upgrade and the feeling you describe for Puyol was what I felt when he lined up to kick.

I think Teggart had a bigger leg too. Don't recall distance being a major worry with him.

I felt very comfortable with Teggart out to about 52 yards. Even at night on a sloppy field at night.

Teggart had leg and accuracy out to almost 55 yards. Unfortunately in the NFL a kicker needs 55-60 yard length. He was literally 3-5 yards short of NFL length. And in the NFL those points from that distance matter.

In college, a kicker who is golden from 45 and closer is plenty good enough. Consistently making 45 yarders probably puts you in the top 20% of college kickers. It doesn't get you a tryout for the NFL. There's a reason why good kickers last in to their 40's.

Teggert was great, saw that FG over USF live to send us to BCS, so I am biased.

Puyol is great too, with a chance to really help this team. Great family too, they tailgate at all the FL games and are super nice.

I've been told that it's not quite so much length that's important, as it is girth.

But that's not important right now I guess. I'll go sit in the corner.

You must be an FSU or Buffalo Bills fan.

I laughed way too hard at this.

Unfortunately this season is most known for the FGs he didn't have a chance to kick
