Of course Petrino would leave after he made us really good. Edsall left after he made us decent, Diaco would as well. I just want a coach who makes us good.

At least RE waited until 20 minutes after the Fiesta Bowl to leave. Petrino would leave mid season, maybe even mid game.

I forget who it was, but when he was at Western Kentucky someone described him as old, and haggard. In the NFL defensive schemes rule the day, in college by and large its the opposite. Most of the elite college coaches are offensive minded or at least it seems that way.

When he was available I remember most of the board saying they didn't want him and UConn is too good to stoop down and take Petrino. It's this type of small-time idiotic thinking that has us stuck with Diaco.

Simply beg to disagree.

WE CANNOT be Louisville. As much as you'd like us to be a ethics challenged cesspool, we will not stoop there as a University. Clyde Vaughn - OUT. We are a prestigious Flagship University that our State's residents buy into. Having/Supporting sex under restaurant tables or playing sex games with staffers ... will not be us. There are 128 Programs that Petrino could go to; only about 20 would take him today. Not UConn. Ain't gonna happen.

Louisville is ghetto in every single aspect.

Advocating for and whining that we didn't hire Petrino when he was available is just utterly facking stupid.

For the record, I wanted Herman when we conducted the search.

In the not too distant future Louisville will be on NCAA probation and Petrino and Petino will be gone.

Sure but I can put up with the sleaze if we are guaranteed to win and Petrino wins. It's no time to around, it feels like our athletic future is on the line and I have no doubt Petrino could have turned us into a top 25 team in 3 years. We have a whole bunch of things going for us in conference realignment except for ths most important metric, football success. Petrino is pretty much a guarantee to bring you football success.

So if we knew there was a "secret" way to guarantee wins but it was completely unethical, you'd be fine with that?

Yuck.
