I hate it when we get him as a commentator. He certainly knows his stuff, but somehow he just gives the watching experience some sort of unsettling, disorienting feel. He seems like he's miserable and doesn't at all want to be there. Just about the only time he comes to life is when someone shoots a free throw that begins to drop just after it passes the rim.

Fella is certainly enamored with the mechanics of the free throw.

Patrick on the other hand is not only blind, but colored blind as well. Cobb and Calhoun share a number and MP couldn't seem to tell the difference.

I feel like I sat in on a 2 hour freethrow lecture from the world's most boring professor.

1 out of every 3 of his rants ends with him forgetting what he was talking about.

The constant free throw analysis by Knight was a thing of beauty. He is clearly not what he used to be. Seemed especially loopy tonight.

Watched part of the UCLA-Utah game after ours ended. I think Bill Walton drops acid before doing commentary. He is hilarious.

Tell us again why the defensive pass interference is the worst play in sports Bob.

How about Knight claiming that the referees inadvertently blew the whistle because a squirrel ran on the court. It wasn't funny the first time he said it and I wasn't entirely sure he was kidding either. Then about a minute later he wanted ESPN to find replay of the supposed squirrel.

Or with 1:20 left and UConn down 8, when he said: "If they can get a shot every 10 seconds, then they'd get 7 or 8 more and if 3 or 4 could go in and they held Cincinnati they could still win this game." What in the world has happened to BK?

At one point, he said UConn showed "laxidity" by not getting back on D. Huh????

Laxidity. He borrowed that one from Walt Frazier... Or was it Dicky Simpkins...

Are you guys crazy? One of the greatest coaches ever repeatedly said that the AAC was a very good league with a lot of teams that could win NCAA Tournament games. Meaning that the P-5 conferences were not much better.

When you're 74 years old, with 3 titles, and over 900 wins...you can say whatever you like, without having to worry what some idiots on the internet think of you.

Sure he has some flaws as pointed out in this thread but I like him. He beats the hell out of Tim Walsh.

Imagine if he were named head coach at Cincy... Those kids would know how to make FTs and execute on the offensive end a little better, that's for sure..

He's incomprehensible and often factually wrong. He also said things that indicated that he has no short-term memory. As poorly as we played last night, Knight was a worse announcer.
