Hey guys,

Congrats on a great year! Recent alum, long time reader and first time poster. So excited about the potential of this program. KO has really put together a close knit unit that plays for family. With all that being said, we have that Ferrari waiting to be unleashed in the garage (i.e. Purvis) and I am intrigued as to what you all feel we can expect from him next season, especially in relation to Boatright (who had a tremendous year). I have seen all of his highlight videos and I remember playing against him and NC ST last season and being impressed. However, I have learned to not get overly excited coming off of championships (a la 2012) as even with all that talent, the chemistry wasn't there. Even this year, Napier and Boatright have had their disagreements and no matter how much talent we have at the guard position (RB, RP, TS, OC and Dan Hurley coming as a 2/3 hybrid) without chemistry as a unit, we aren't going to be marching deep into the tourni.

Thoughts?

Ollie teaches family to these kids. I really dont see chemistry being a problem ever again. Plus, Purvis has already been practicing with these guys for a year so hes not brand new to the program

Not sure what to expect stat-wise from Rodney but I know there won't be any chemistry issues. If you follow him on twitter, he is constantly saying how he loves the team and that they are his brothers. He hasn't played a minute with them on the court and he's saying that. Chemistry doesn't worry me, especially with KO at the helm.

I guess a number of people see him as one and done (on another thread), so probably pretty big numbers. If they're right, he starts next to Boatright and puts up 18/5/5.

There was talk that Purvis had issues with chemistry at nc st. But seem much better at uconn. I hear staff and players love him

Yeah I heard the rumors that chemistry was the reason he ultimately decided to leave but from what I am hearing he should be a fantastic addition in terms of talent and leadership.

Boat exhibited what I thought were terrific leadership skills during the tourney. In fact, there were a few times when I thought the team functioned better when he was at the helm. I'm very excited for next year. Boat also has a swagger, just like Bazz and Kemba. We're gonna be fine and no one will want to play us come tourney time regardless of our seeding.

I think we'll also be a more balanced team. The X-factor will be Brimah. I would not be surprised if he blows up next year.

I'm counting on Brimah to improve. I think the X-factor is going to be Hamilton. If his game translates to college, they will have the scorer they need opposite Daniels. And if Hamilton can't do it, let's hope Omar is back building off his freshman year instead of his lost soph. year.

I am cautiously optimistic about Brimah. I'll be happy with 9pts/6reb/3blk out of him. I think once again the bulk of our scoring will come from the guards. I'm looking at both Boat and Purvis to give us 15pts a game.

Brimah's effect on the game doesn't always show in the stat sheet, it's all about changing/discouraging shots in the lane

...and karate chop celebrations. Don't forget about those, as they can start runs to national championships.

^agreed, hopefully he will continue to work on the martial arts repertoire, I think he is going to have a great year next year. At the very least continue to set the tone on D and also not commit stupid fouls.

Well chemistry depends on what gang purvis is a part of. If him and boatright are from rival gangs we may see some chemistry issues.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I'd be much happier with 6pts/9rebs than 9pts/6rebs.
