Good move for parents w/ younger kids...

It's a great test run to see how your kids will hold up for a sporting event. Last year I couldn't get mine to sit down for more than a drive at a time, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed they've improved in the off season.

YUUUPPP!!! Spring and football is in the air!
I can smell it thru the snow!

You brought it up so now I have to ask. My little one will be almost 18 months. Is she too little to enjoy fanfest? My bigger concern is the 100-mile drive down and the fact that naptime is around 11am, smack dab in the middle of fanfest-ivities.

My oldest was about that age when I brought him to his first Spring Game, and he had a good time. Granted, I didn't have the 100 mile drive like you will, so that might change the story a lot. But if you think your kid can hack the drive, give it a shot...

last year my kids were about 2.5 and almost 1 and they had fun. they were a little shy to play in a bounce house with a bunch of strange bigger kids but they had fun tearing around the concourse area and it's relatively empty so you can let them run a little. we have about a 150 mile drive so we'll stay overnight and then hit either the children's museum in Hartford or Mystic aquarium sunday afternoon before heading back. it makes for a nice weekend if the weather's nice. if the weather stinks it's probably not worth going.

I used to get excited for this thing, HCPP has sucked the life out of the program

I had a hard time with my son when he was that age. It was raining so I was trying to stay under concourse and he kept running all over the place. Going to try again now that he's three weather permitting. They have no attention span at that age so if you're alone it could be tough.

Any word on it being televised like last year?

If you're interested in watching the game and scouting the players, the TV coverage stinks. They chat through the whole thing, they run sideline interviews during play, they treat the game as a sidelight.

Just my personal opinion......I waited until my kids were about 4 before bringing them in.
