The default service by most is ESPN for obvious reasons. I think it's fair to say both classes are great on paper.

I would add that South Carolina collecting physical and aggressive athletes is concerning. UConn needs to combat that and Geno knows it which is why he has lauded the toughness and physicality of Edwards, Muhl, and Westbrook. Still need more of those types over the next couple of classes.

And UCONN's skill is off-the-charts (this year "possibly" "off-the-charts" but beyond - "more-than-likely") of which it would be "concerning" for SC. Both teams on paper amazingly loaded. Each year for ONO expect her to be better - enough so to be "tough enough." I do count Griffin as tough. And it appears Edwards is going to be tough. And Brady is probably going to be tough. Mir and Saylor not counting them out either. While the team overall probably won't be the toughest- they might not have to be. For example if Paige and Azzi are just flat out better than what they (S.C.) have.

I agree though on paper SC is a force. But there is no such thing as a team without weakness. Nor do I think if these teams squared off twice a year for 2 or 3 years that one could sweep the other 2 years or possibly 3 years straight- looking at it on paper. Looking at next year and beyond- if UCONN were to lose - looking at it on paper- it's probably because a team can attack the paint with their combination of athleticism and physicality/size-- which yes it's concerning - but somewhere there nearly always is a weakness somewhere.

The potentially different styles of the two teams will be interesting, and represent different approaches to reaching the same goal. But starting next year UConn will an advantage, perhaps a significant one, in outside shooting. And three points is more than two.

I don’t know about ESPN being the “default” service but they are the most vocal. The channel will probably refer to SCar as having the number one class during games when the subject comes up.

with SCar being an SEC team and part of the ESPN/SEC network they will almost certainly be touted #1. However, UConn is still the Big Dog in WBB. They may choose to frequently refer to “the top two” classes to keep excitement stirred.

I am assuming our game will be on a fox channel this year but ESPN will still be active in the hype buildup. By the time these gals are in uniform, the SCar/UConn game will be on an ESPN channel, so I’m certain there will be “top 2” discussion that year

Just a couple of thoughts. The most important thing in recruiting is to get the best players possible to fill your teams needs. The coaches choose those players based on ability attitude and coachability. Rankings are based on evaluators who see the kids play. With that said Saylor was hurt and did not play as much as some of the other kids. I can tell you Deberry is a solid post player who plays with her back to the basket and can shoot the 15footer. Caroline and Saylor are fundamentally sound players who can shoot from long range and know how to play the game. Azzi is Azzi enuff said. This is a terrific class as in SC class. Number 1 and number 2 either way. Lets wait and see how coaching develops them

We all love to watch what possible recruits do in high school. We tally their scoring, assists, on court things. Geno however looks for team players, players who "fit", players who have the academic prowess to succeed at UConn. rom what I have seen is he often recruits that come from a diverse background so they can blend in with their team members. easily. Looks for personality traits he feels will work in his program. These things don't show up on box scores. The do however show up in life.
