Where's Rutgers? Where's Louisville? West Virginia? Guess we don't deserve to be their peers after all. We are peers with the schools on the list and should be playing them in athletic contests. Everyone knows it.

For simplicity's sake, here's the list:
20. Texas A&M
19. UConn
18. SUNY Binghamton
17. Minnesota
16. Georgia
15. Ohio State
14. Cal - San Diego
13. Georgia Tech
12. Texas
11. Illinois
10. Wisconsin
9. Washington
8. Maryland
7. Florida
6. UCLA
5. Cal - Berkeley
4. William & Mary
3. Virginia
2. North Carolina
1. Michigan

So that's six B1G, three ACC, three PAC12, three SEC, a B12, an American East, a Colonial, a DII, and us.

It would be nice to see some criteria, rather than just pictures.
And better pictures - I'm sure most of the schools on that list have a ton of better quality, royalty-free photos BizJournal could have used. (Not that it really matters).

For the record, here's more from the Big Ten. Not sure why "my source" stopped at 38. There's something like 420 on the master list, but I haven't found that list on the interwebs.

1- Michigan

8-Maryland

10- Wisconsin

11- Illinois

14- Ohio State

17-- Minnesota

22- Indiana

26- Penn State

28- - Rutgers

37-Michigan State

38-Iowa

Purdue, Nebraska ??

This means nothing, but WTF it's good pub.

Can't wait for someone to argue SUNY-Binghamton's case for inclusion into the Big Ten, to capture the (Broome County) New York market...

Louisville is a community college, with a big athletics department. Need not apply.

Two words: Tony Kornheiser...

Methodology is garbage. A number of schools have fantastic five-year programs (co-ops), that are considered top 25 programs in the entire country. That entire group is penalized on 4-year graduation rates. Can't take it remotely seriously.

Ehh. We're good enough. I'll take it. No biggie.

Give the high bar at schools these days, the AD's should get a lot of credit...

WTF... Florida at #7???I believe the Gators biggest major is a BS in Homicide. :-) FSU (aka Free Shoes or Free Seafood U) is not on the top 20...

Florida does very well in every ranking publication out there. However, I still believe that UF inflates every aspect of its achievements and plays the game very well. When it came out that they were BSing the USNWR surveys, I was not surprised.

Nonetheless, I wish UCONN would do what it has to do to win football games and get into the AAU.

Overall, I think U Florida is a very good school. That said, the academic quality of it's football team on average I suspect greatly differs from the overall university student body much in the same why that Georgetown's academics, which are top notch, differ from their basketball team.

It is definitely a good school and is very hard to get into. I just find their traction in various rankings to be suspicious. They were insincere in their USNWR survey responses.
