Naturally, he reached out to the last guy to successfully navigate a back-to-back national championship push: Billy Donovan.

"He said don't make it about that," Hurley said. "Don't chase a repeat. Improve in the offseason as a coach, serve your players well, stick to the formula. Don't pursue the achievement. Just do a great job ... and let the chips fall where they may. But don't obsess over that accomplishment or else it's going to make you crazy."

Don't think about back-to-back titles, don't think about winning this title, don't think about getting to the championship game, don't think about Purdue vs NC State. Just defeat Alabama is the only thing to think about now.

Couldn’t be better advice, especially since we know they are prepared. So let the chips fall.

In the same spirit of this thread and temery's original thread.

Don't think about back-to-back titles, don't think about being an all time great, don't think about history, don't think about tying North Carolina with 6 titles. Just defeat Purdue is the only think to think about now.

Right.
They aren't defending anything.
2023 will forever be an accomplishment.
This team is trying to achieve something only this team can achieve. 2024 Champs.
