RIP. So bummed.

Oddly, I dialed him up on Spotify yesterday. Use Me, Harlem, Grandma's Hands too.

When I think of Bill Withers I think of my dad driving us to Maine for a vacation and we kids made him listen to WABC-AM all the way from Stamford to Sebago Lake. It seemed like every other song was either, "Ain't No Sunshine" or Norman Greenbaum's "Spirit in the Sky". Dad was a man of few words, but after a couple of hours in the car he was just grumbling, "I know, I know, I know, I know, I know I know, I know I know, I know I KNOW" repeatedly.
