I had to watch on Gamecast and look at the box score
When the largest number on the stat line for each of our bigs is PF we have a problem

5 points and 5 rebounds COMBINED for Brimah, Nolan, and Facey. You can't win anything with a frontcourt performance like that.

I liked PN's game. Fourth game in a row. He played well on both ends of the court. He would be a great fifth player if the rest of the starting line up could play like they did against SMU.

His foul trouble primarily was the result of DHam or AB unable to play defense and Doris Burke suggesting that UConn should not let Temple get to the basket so easily. Very proud of PN.

I also think PN performed rather well in comparative to the others,
AB CANNOT average less that 5 rebounds per game.
That in itself is a killer
DHam will get better defensively when he comes back bigger and stronger. Its tough for a barely 18 yo who weighs 170 pounds soaking wet to body up and defend a 22 yo who is built like a brick poophouse. That, however, doesn't excuse failing to closeout on a 3 pt specialist

I really don't understand how anyone can be thrilled with Phil. He can't shoot or rebound and his numbers have gone down from last year across the board. He averages a whopping 1.2 points and 1.6 rebounds. If I read his line on any other UConn team (and without knowing otherwise) I would have said he must be a walk on who gets a few garbage minutes now and then. His highest scoring output on the year is 4 and his top rebounding game was 5. At least Facey threw up 14 and 9 against Duke. IMO with how bad this team struggles offensively Facey should be playing more at least for his scoring.

You are reading box scores and not watching games. Setting screens and on-ball defense are hugely important for a team. Phil being in and doing those two things has kept us hanging in games. Facey can do neither of those things well, so he sits.

This. Why do so many people find this so hard to comprehend?

We literally don't run a single set for any of our bigs so their never going to score much. Rebounds on the other hand, they need to be much better
