The pork chops had a tussle with Lamar, but came out in the end 63-50. Their schedule gets a lot tougher starting next week. Creighton then Oregon, and LSU after the Christmas break.

Good news for Arkansas is they will probably shoot 70% from the floor against LSU.

Wow, a couple of surprises tonight. Just as I thought Michigan might be for real, Toledo shocks them. Kansas is absolutely spanking Arizona.

Michigan lost to Toledo, a mid-major. In Ann Arbor!

Arizona lost at home to unranked Kansas by 27.

Maryland eked out a win against Purdue with a rally.

Indiana needed a big 3rd quarter to beat Penn State by 9.

Not a big game, but worth a note.

Penn defeated St Francis(Bkln) 78-44, last night.

Worth a note, especially considering UConns limited bench, Penn played 17 players in the game. Every player contributed either a point or a rebound.

Those Ivies aren't limited by scholarships!

Big loss for NC State in its 65-57 win over South Florida. Diamond Johnson rolled her ankle about midway through Q2 and emerged late in the 3rd in a walking boot. Up to that time, she was unstoppable, scoring 14 quick points for NC State.

DJ probably will miss our next two games...maybe back for the Duke game on December 29th.

Meanwhile...Jada Boyd remains sidelined with an ankle injury. Today, though...she was not wearing the walking boot she had at the Georgia game on Monday.

NC State's next game is Thursday against Davidson, going up against former NC State player Elle Sutphen.

I want State to be at full strength on the 29th when Duke comes to town to bust that arse.

Apple Cup game 1, Washington beat Wazzu 82-66. Cougs had won 7 of 8 previously in the series. Leger-Walker was unstoppable with 40, but she got almost no help. Dawgs had balanced scoring, all 5 starters in double figures. This was Coach Ethridge's first loss in Hec Ed.

Seton Hall beat UCF 63-56 today. There were offensive lulls for both teams but whenever UCF would get close Seton Hall would deliver. Destiny Thomas tied a school record with 24 rebounds in the loss.

It's not the usual battle of Top 25 teams, but my Cardinals got their sixth straight win over Kentucky this afternoon. Abysmal shooting by Hailey Van Lith and Carr but surprisingly good outings by Dixon and Jones.

An improved effort, but work to be done if we hope to contend in the ACC.

Oregon tried to start conference play with a loss to Oregon St. but absolutely atrocious shooting by the Beavs the last 5 minutes or so gave the game back to UO. OSU went from up 7 to down 8 before I turned the game off.

Rogers poured in a career high 34 for Oregon. OSU went with the brilliant strategy of "let's not guard the hot hand."

Off hand I thought OSU went about 2-15 the last 5 minutes or so. I nailed it looking at the play by play according to ESPN.

I'll never forget how much passion the beavs put in this rivalry.
In her first year, Talia was roaring right in the face of the poor struggling duck Shelley when they won. Shelley would go on to transfer afterwards.

Ducks seem to be playing much much better this year.
No Sedona and no Nyara Sabally on the court and the chemistry is much better.

Probable the third worst game Oregon played as a whole team.

I would say this is the first Civil War game in the last 4 where Graves ended up out coaching OSU Rueck and made adjustments in the end. He went with a much shorter and quicker line up. OSU shot just 7% 1-14 in the end. Yeaney is not a player you want in offense sets in crunch time. Some ill advised shots during that final stretch 1-14 stretch.

OSU's TVO (Talia) is a very competitive player and it shows. It seemed TvO who is OSU's best player by far got frustrated offensively that the game wasn’t coming to her, and some of her missed shot were forced, driving one on three into the lane type of stuff. Trying to make something happen when there wasn’t anything there. If OSU does not make the March dance I could see her portaling out for her last year. If they make it she stays. I think she is just way more competitive than the average player.

Good news for Oregon St is they face LSU this coming week. I expect them to go off shooting 70% from three and get their confidence going.

Agree and especially with the opening comment. Paopao didn't have anything close to her normal game, PK got schooled (a good thing long term, I think), VanSlooten missed some easy shots, etc., etc. On the other hand, Gray seems to have turned the corner over the past couple of games. And they won.

To me, TVO doesn't look like the same player we saw last year. Much more passive and, although she never looks happy, she seems even more so this year. Don't quite understand why she isn't playing a bigger role in the OSU offense.

We attended a WBB game at Cameron a few years ago. That was a bucket list item for me. Iconic venue, banners in the rafters, great fans...it's what sports is all about.
