NEW YORK – Seton Hall graduate student forward Mariana Valenzuela averaged 19.5 points on .636 shooting in a 2-0 week against Creighton and Xavier, earning her the BIG EAST Player of the Week honor. UConn forward Blanca Quiñonez nabbed her third straight weekly honor as freshman of the week.

I watched both of SH's games mentioned and Mariana, a former FSU player, definitely was playing great. Now we will have to wait and see how she does this Saturday.

Blanca is on pace to match Maya Moore and Sarah Strong! She's dominating the FOW awards. That's 5 out of 8 and 3 weeks in a row.

Kelis was the preseason BEFOY. Unfortunately, she has a logjam ahead of her for PT. Enter Blanca, who I will argue is the best freshman in the country, although the fact that she comes off the bench will likely result in someone else winning NFOY. As for BEFOY, Blanca is a LOCK!
