$500 million over six years. About 7.5 million per year. Almost double what we get now.
That's your guess or you saw this somewhere? I still haven't seen anything

"Peacock will launch its coverage of BIG EAST men’s basketball in 2024-25 with a package of 25 regular season games and five early round and quarterfinal conference tournament games. Beginning with the 2025-26 season, Peacock and NBC Sports will present more than 60 men’s and women’s regular season and BIG EAST Tournament games."

I hope those tournament games aren't exclusively on Peacock.
They will be.

Peacock games coming this year for a contract beginning next year? How does that work?

Based on UConn’s post on FB. There was a question about how much per team and AI perused and found it.

Each contract probably has their own clauses. Peacock probably scooped up games that would’ve been on Flosports or CBS etc.. probably offered extra money because they need to expand their inventory

Most interesting portion to me at least is that the TNT Sports portion of the deal is for coverage across TNT, TBS, TruTV and Max - curious how they’ll decide which networks get what games and how many (TNT Sports is third in the selection order)

So it's your guess
No, AI answered the question based on a prompt from the UConn Facebook post. Also, SBJ hinted at that number in their most recent podcast.

My bet is the first round and the first session on Thursday will be on Peacock.

Agreed. Article said 5 games so that makes sense.

Not happy about the Peacock stuff but if the deal is around $1 billion for 6 years it's a big win for Val and the conference, if it's around $500 million for 6 years it's a total failure by Val.

It's going to be a lot closer (if not lower) than $500mm.

My baseless guess is it will be right around the middle of that. $750M for 6 years.

Sportico is reporting the number (6.8-7.3M annually per team):

Estimates of the value of the new agreements see the conference nearly doubling its annual rights payments at a range of $75 million to $80 million per year.

That would be exceptionally disappointing

Who was saying we were going to get $14-$15M per?

Please reply so that we can point and laugh at you and say: “I told you so”

The current deal is 500 million for 12 years. This one will be 500 million for six years. Even adding UConn as an 11th school, it will be close to double.

$7.5M is not “almost double”

Quit putting lipstick on this pig.
