I don't know how many 'yarders are going to tomorrow afternoon's games, but traffic is bound to be a nightmare. The St. Paddy's Day parade kicks off at 11:00 and the route eventually goes right down Asylum Street past the XL. The snow is making a mess and the web site warns of street closures.

Why the parade is on Saturday when St. Patricks Day is a week from Sunday I'll never know:confused:

New Haven, too. Doesn't make sense to me either.

New Haven's is Sunday. New Haven is always the week before the parade. They try to spread out the parades to be able to attract participants (bands, etc..)

I just returned from Hartford. It just was not worth the effort to get to the XL center. Very poor planning. Unlikely I will return tonight.

Borders on the stupidest city planning I have ever heard. Don't these folks maintain a city calendar and account for these things.
