First round is today (Friday), but it's only the 7-10 and 8-9 games.

Villanova is the only decent team among these bottom 4 seeds. Nova was actually in a 5-way tie for 3rd at 11-7, but was the grand loser in the 5-way tiebreaker. They were a full 8 games ahead of 8th seed Providence.

Providence ended Georgetown's season earlier today, 49-46. The Hoyas went from a WNIT quarterfinalist last year to a 5-25 team this year.

Xavier and Villanova headed to OT after a wild three by Xavier at the buzzer ties it.

Nova survives in OT, will play Marquette tomorrow.

Here was the shot that forced overtime. Just prior to this, Siegrist of Villanova had missed 2 FTs, either of which would've iced the game.

Harry's team is really giving him the full cardiac experience in his last ride.

Does DePaul practice with a 12-second shot clock? First open shot is fair game each possession.

Now can UConn win this tourney this year?
Prediction: UConn continues its undefeated conference streak in the Big East, and the world of WCBB will be talking about our garbage league and no good wins one year from today.

DePaul survived a close and high-scoring affair with Seton Hall today. For a while I thought the Blue Demons might be following the "take one for the team" model of their quasi-mascot twins the Blue Devils. But they pulled through by 3.

#2 Marquette won rather comfortably over #3 St. John's.

Tomorrow's DePaul vs. Marquette final at 8p Eastern time, on FS1. DePaul will need to be on their game, as Marquette has been playing well lately, winning 12 of their last 14 games, including a win over DePaul just one week ago.

The good news is the Big East knows they need to move the conference tournament to Connecticut as the support in Chicago has been tepid at best. The Big East used to be at the XL Center but I like it at Mohegan Sun. Not sure what others think...At least the conference knows who bakes, slice and butters their bread...

Would a bunch of catholic schools have a tournament at a gambling mecca?

This year I am sure Marquette and Depaul fans are glad it's in Chicago this year.

DePaul pushing Pace. 45-33 at half

DePaul has been struggling in the past couple weeks, and lost two games on opponents' Senior Day (including Perretta's last home game).

But they picked a good time to open up a big can of W.A., now up 56-39 in mid-3Q. Stonewall, Held and Campbell doing most of the scoring damage.

Garbage time in Wintrust Arena. DePaul up by 15 with 43 seconds left. Bruno has taken his starters out.

Lexi Held with a career-high 31 points.
Chante Stonewall with 22 points and one very interesting hair color.
Kelly Campbell adds 16.

Doug Bruno when asked about his 3 peat in the Big East. "Enjoy it while we can. UConn is coming next year. :D:D
